Sea View Terrace combines two spacious ensuite bedrooms and a semi-shaded patio area above our family home, surrounded by indigenous forest, with a view of Diani Beach. 'Seaview room' features a kingsize bed while the Kuzi room (for which there is an extra charge) has two beds (a king and a queen). Access to the terrace is via an external staircase. A basic kitchenette area with a sink, kettle, microwave, cutlery, plates, bowls etc and top burner (no oven) is available. Please note that a maximum of 3 people can book the Seaview Terrace space. Seaview room is automatically allocated to a booking of two people sharing. Kuzi room is charged for separately for a third person. If you are two people requiring separate rooms, please pay for three people when booking. Sea view Terrace comes with big (semi-shaded) patio area overlooking the garden and on to the beach. There is an outdoor dining table and a small kitchen area with a sink, kettle, microwave and top burner (no oven). This is one of the few beach-front properties that still boasts its indigenous trees. Monkeys, including the endangered black-and-white Angolan colobus monkey frequently visit the plot during the day; and at night the greater galagos (bush babies) can be heard calling from the tree-tops and are often seen too, if you put out some fruit for them at night! Since we are closely surrounded by forest, you may also encounter monitor lizards, geckos, squirrels and possibly other species that live here. Guests can make use of the shared pool area and the beautiful beach which is less than 30 meters in front of the house! I do not live on the property but I am only a call or message away if needed. My parents (Jane and Mike) live on the property in the main house. They are generally around if you have any questions or concerns that you would like addressing in person. Diani Beach has been voted the "Best Beach in Africa" for many years with good reason; the perfectly white sandy beach stretches for kilometers along the balmy Indian Ocean coast. Getting around is very easy as there is only one main road up and down the beach. An assortment of bars, shopping centers, cafés and restaurants line the road. There are taxis, 'boda bodas' (motor bikes), mini vans and 'tuk tuks' available at the top of our drive. We suggest taking a taxi at night, we use Taxi John (you will have access to his number once your booking is confirmed). Lots of shops, banks etc a few minutes away. Please note when booking, that we accommodate a maximum of 3 people at Seaview terrace. While the bedrooms are huge, the kitchen and seating area are comfortable for 3 people. The Seaview room is automatically allocated to the first booking of two people sharing. If you have a third person in your group please enter 3 people into the booking bar. For two people requiring separate rooms, please pay for 3 people to have access to both rooms. We are located close to all amenities, beach bars/restaurants, shops, banks, scuba diving, snorkelling trips, golf. Scuba diving facilities are located at Nomads which is just a few minutes walk along the beach, while a kite surfing school is located just outside our property, on the beach. The glass bottom boat trip to the reef and sandbank is recommended for snorkelling. There are many local Diani tour operators selling day trips to nearby Shimba Hills or further national parks like Tsavo or Amboseli. Please see our guide book on Diani Beach for more info. We can also arrange for a masseuse to come to the house for massages as well as manicures and pedicures. Personal laundry can be done at a nearby laundromat for a small fee.
