Your home away from home. Pet & kid friendly. Nestled against the Santa Fe National Forest, our attached guesthouse is the perfect place for you. Spacious bedroom upstairs with two very comfy beds and romantic sunset views, kitchen and bathroom, and New Mexico themed decor! Enjoy your own private deck with spectacular views and the brightest stars at night. Futon/couch downstairs and a queen air mattress if you need an extra bed. 30-minute drive to the world-famous Japanese spa Ten Thousand Waves, 20 minutes to the Plaza in the heart of Santa Fe, and 35 minutes to the ski basin with unlimited hiking and mountain biking in between. The house is tasteful, private, quiet, has amazing views, and has easy access to Santa Fe's finest restaurants, galleries, and activities. Great for couples, solo or family adventurers, or business travelers. 4X4 recommended in winter, check with us. This mountain top-solar powered eco home has lots of views, great light, and privacy. BEDROOM: Very spacious bedroom upstairs. The bedroom has king and queen size beds, closet storage, a door to the outside balcony, multiple windows, and a ceiling fan. King bed is a super comfy Tempur-Pedic mattress. Queen mattress is a Serta iComfort. Large TV in bedroom with access to Amazon Prime, Hulu, YouTube, Disney+ and AppleTV. Mini split in bedroom provides heating and cooling. Living area, kitchen, and bathroom are downstairs, all decorated with New Mexico theme and local art. KITCHEN: The kitchen includes a stove top, countertop convection oven/toaster, electric kettle, a Nespresso coffee maker with available capsules, refrigerator and a microwave. One of the shelves in the kitchen holds several board games and puzzles, including Scrabble, Parcheesi, and Cards Against Humanity. There are plenty of empty shelves in the kitchen to store your groceries. LIVING ROOM: The living room downstairs has book shelves with our book collection, hand carved wooden beams, and creative lighting. The house shares a doorway with the main house, but is kept locked for the privacy and solitude of guests. High ceilings give the space the feel of a luxurious hotel accommodation. There is also a new futon that can sleep additional people. In the living room, there is a heater and a ceiling fan but no AC. BATHROOM: Downstairs is a single private bathroom with a large shower. Bathroom has bath, hand, and face towels, natural & regular shampoo, conditioner, natural & regular body wash, and a blow dryer and a triple wave iron. Facing the National Forest is a private balcony with more seating and breathtaking views of the mountains and forest. With a clear sky, you’ll get to see the brightest stars at night. Our backyard is a common space and features a propane grill, a playground and a baby swing. The backyard and also the front yard are completely fenced off. We provide natural products so you can pack light and our cleaning supplies are natural and environmentally safe. Our house is in an ideal location for access to town and to the mountains. Culture, arts, restaurants, and nightlife are only 15-20 minutes away. Hiking trails are out the front door. Ten Thousand Waves Japanese spa is only 30 minutes away, along with Santa Fe public transportation that will take you to town or to the mountain, which provides mountain bike carriers. The famous Santa Fe Downtown Plaza is 20-30 minutes away. El Dorado is just several miles away and has grocery, shopping, and lots of great restaurants including Arable and Carmelita’s (best Greek food & green chile burgers!). Cafe Fina is our favorite restaurant and is just down the road from the bottom of our street. We love their breakfast, chicken enchiladas, and their green chile burger. The guesthouse is attached to the main house, but the guesthouse has a separate entrance. There is a soundproof door that separates the guesthouse from the main house. You have access to the entire guesthouse. If you need to do laundry, please let us know, as the washer and dryer are in the main house. The winter months can be snowy, so 4×4 vehicles are highly recommended to fully access the driveway as well as the roads in Santa Fe in general. Hiking trails are out the front door. El Dorado is just several miles away and has grocery, shopping, and lots of great restaurants including Arable and Carmelita’s. Cafe Fina is our favorite restaurant and is just down the road from the bottom of our street. Plenty of parking on the property. The entire house is fenced in. Our property is a total of 22 acres, with a couple of hiking trails just steps away from the house. Closest grocery store is the El Dorado Supermarket located in the Agora Shopping Center. This shopping center also has several restaurants and local shops. Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods are about 20 min away. We live in a residential area on the top of the ridge providing some of the best views in Santa Fe. Issues you should know about include: The Road: Is not paved, some steep parts, and in the mountains. In the winter it is plowed regularly, but 4 wheel drive is highly suggested if not familiar with driving in varying weather (snow and ice) conditions. We are happy to help you navigate the road to our house if needed, and we work hard to keep our driveway accessible. Santa Fe is located at 7,000+ ft, but with lots of sun, weathered roads don't usually last long. Animals on property: we have a Japanese Akita who stays in the backyard most of the day, 6 chickens that stay in an enclosed area behind Maha’s art studio, and 3 Nigerian Dwarf goats that roam around the front yard. All animals are friendly, but please be mindful of throwing anything on the ground as the goats will eat it.
