Named after two walls built with recycled glass bottles, The Glass Bottle House is a self-contained, quirky cottage in Area 10, Lilongwe. Being on the same site as the café/deli, you can join the 'buzz' where people enjoy lunching, brunching and working. Alternatively, you can enjoy the quiet of your little nook - the Glass Bottle House. The glass bottle house is nestled in quiet and calm Area 10 in northeast Lilongwe. There are various cafès within walking distance, most notably Kaza Kitchen which is on the same plot as the house. August House is also just down the road which has a cafè and some small shops, including a second-hand store, and hosts a farmer's market every Saturday. There is a shopping mall about 20 minutes walk away which has a supermarket, pharmacy, ATM, bars and wine merchant. City Centre is a 5 minute drive away where you can find travel agencies, airline offices, printing shops, etc. There is an Italian restaurant about half an hour's walk away from the glass bottle house. In the adjacent Area 12, you can find more restaurants, including a Chinese, Ethiopian, Indian, Persian, Japanese, as well as an ice cream shop. It is safe to get around Lilongwe on foot in the day time. Reliable taxis can be arranged very easily, there are also public taxis and motorbikes which can be called down for shorter journeys. Parking is easy in most places and will often have a security guard to attend your car.
