Umande Mbili is a stylish and spacious place to stay. Set on over an acre of lush garden, it is a perfect choice for families and groups of friends. Minutes walk to the beach, yet the peaceful garden setting allows you to enjoy the best of both in the same day. The house is fully staffed with chef, housekeeper, gardener/pool attendant and night guard. "Umande" means morning dew. "Mbili" is the number two as there is a Umande (number one) next door. Umande Mbili is extremely spacious. Several verandas and living areas make staying in our house a luxurious pleasure. The rooms are all ensuite, two of which have their own verandas. With a total of 4 rooms and 6 beds, the house can host up to 8 people (and up to 10 if the additional 2 are children). This is our holiday home, our occasional retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city life. We are happy to share it with you, hoping you will enjoy it and respect it. You will have access to the whole house for your enjoyment. I'm always available on phone if I'm not in town. Giuliana is the house manager and also available when you need her. The Casuarina neighbourhood is the Old Muthaiga of Malindi (if you are familiar with Nairobi). Walking minutes to the beach, driving minutes to town, it is known for its tranquil settings and private villas with lush tropical gardens. The beach is walking distance, though you can also drive. The infamous "tuk tuk" is the best way to get around in Malindi. Second to that is a "boda boda" (motorcycle) if you wish to brave it. Just hail one down on Mohogany Road or the main drag Casuarina Road. Car rentals are also easily available. Prices vary with the seasons.
