The Cozy Cabana is a funky & cozy studio located in a quiet neighborhood and only minutes walking distance to the hustle and bustle of the village and the famous Split. The interior is rustic, though comfortable. If you want a touch of the real Belizean lifestyle, this is the place to be. The cabana is a perfect hangout for all the activities on the island. Inside is a small living area with kitchen (stove/oven, fridge, all necessary utensils), half separate bedroom with a queen bed and a spacious shower/bathroom. Outside is a comfortable veranda with hammock. The cabana does not have hot water, but in a tropical climate, most days you'll be happy to take a refreshing shower. Most guests love our private dock. It's off property, about 50 yards away, and is a great spot for a morning coffee, a dip in the water or some stargazing at night. This dock also gives you a front row seat for the most beautiful sunsets. If you like dogs, you're at the right place: we have 3 friendly dogs named Gumbo, Pixie & Mayzie, who are usually in the yard at daytime. The cabana is located in the backyard of the very unique and authentic outdoor restaurant 'Wish Willy Bar & Grill', run by my husband. The restaurant is not more than a couple of tables and chairs in the yard, and you have to walk through it to reach your cabana. From the veranda, you look out over the restaurant. It's open every night for dinner. As a guest you have access to all the hammocks in the yard, the restaurant and our private dock (50 yards off the property). We have a few kayaks and SUP's that you can use for a daily rate of 10 US$. My husband (Maurice) and I live on the same property, and usually one of us is around for questions or advice. When you arrive, one of us will give you a short introduction. The cabana is just a moments walk to 'The Split', where the island is split in two and which is the most popular spot for swimming, snorkeling or to have a drink at the famous bar 'the Lazy Lizard'. The main street -Front Street- is right around the corner. Here you'll find several restaurants, supermarkets, souvenir shops and food- and fruit stands. The many local people you meet are always in for a chat. The part of the island where the cabana is located is only 100 yards wide so the sea & beach are always nearby. There are no paved streets on Caye Caulker and the way of transport is by foot, bike or golf cart. Cars are not allowed. Forget about fast pace: 'go slow' is the motto of the island. This is a self-service rental: during your stay there will be no cleaning, although there will be cleaning supplies in the house for your own use. Guests that stay for more than a week can request cleaning for an extra fee. We provide basics (coffee, tea, spices, shampoo, soap) for the first days of your stay. There are special weekly and monthly rates and in the slow season (September-October) prices are lower. If you fill in the dates, the right price including discounts will show up automatically.
