Housekeeping Services and Linen’s are provided. Selva Del Mar is a small gated community with full-time care-takers. Because there are so few Villas, you will often find that you have the entire pool to yourself! We have an English/Spanish speaking manager locally that is available in an emergency. Caretakers on the property will assist you with checking in. A Private Beach (Playa Hermosa) and 5 Star Hotel/Resort (Las Brisas) are within Walking Distance from the Villa A Short Drive or 25 minute walk to Shopping, Dining and the Nightlife of Downtown Ixtapa. 15 minute Drive to Historical Downtown Zihauntenejo. Only 3+hr Direct Flight from AZ or CA to Zihauntenejo airport (20 min. drive to Villa). Renting a car is expensive but recommended, but if you choice not to, taxi's are readily available. There is also a bus at the bottom of the hill of the Villa. If you are renting a car, you will see the rental car kiosks upon leaving the baggage claim. They will direct you on how to pick up your car. Renting a car is around $300USD per week. When leaving the airport, there is only one road out so you can’t get lost! The signs will lead you through Zihuatanejo towards Ixtapa. The signs are clearly marked. You shouldn’t have a problem. If you are taking a taxi, expect to pay around $300 to $600 pesos, depending on how many people are in your party or how much luggage you have. Tell the driver “Selva Del Mar”. If they don’t know where that is, tell them Las Brisas or Villa De Selva restaurant. The shuttle bus is just outside the airport doors and drops off right at the bottom of the hill of Selva Del Mar. (at the statue) Cost is about 5 pesos (50 cents). The 15- 20 minute walk up the hill, with bags, may be too much for some if it’s hot. When you begin to enter Ixtapa, (around 25 minutes) you will see a giant bronze statue on the left (I think it's a woman or dolphin? ). About 100 feet after the statue you will want to make a ‘U’ turn (because you can’t make a left) then go right and follow the signs to Las Brisas Hotel. The road will fork – stay to the right and then follow the signs straight ahead to Villa De Selva. As you pass, you will see Las Brisas sign on your right. Selva Del Mar will be just up the road on your left. When you arrive at Selva Del Mar, Felipe or Teresa will be there to greet you and show you to Villa 1. Please ring the bell at the entrance gate. There you will find more information in a black binder located in the small dresser downstairs. The telephone is for incoming long distance or local calls only (see number on phone). Please don’t make long distance calls from this phone unless of an emergency. Our manager’s name is Hector. If you have an emergency, please call him on his cell phone (number can be found in upstairs bathroom on medical emergency information on the wall). The wifi passcode is on a little yellow sticker under the router upstairs marked WPA. There is also a router by the pool. The closest market is towards Ixtapa. Go back down the hill in same direction from Selva del Mar, when at the main road make a right with the intention of immediately getting in the ‘U’ turn lane around lady/dolphin statue heading to Ixtapa Central. You will see what I mean. Then left. The “Super Mercado” is in the middle of the main block on the right and has just about everything you might need. A larger grocery store is in Zihuatanejo and is called Mega. Emergency information can be found in the Villa.
