'Sound View' is a gorgeous detached Bermuda home set on 2 acres of private land. This property is a perfect vacation hideaway with unobstructed stunning ocean views of the Great Sound. Here you will feel rejuvenated and relaxed. This standalone home is well equipped with quality modern day living amenities. The outdoor space is beautifully landscaped and private with access to the pool. This is only shared with the residents of 'Gate House' and 'Lemon Drop' (also rentable on Airbnb). 'Sound View' was built in 2016 with a design that has emphasized light, space and modern technology. The Great Room has a beautiful white beamed and open ceiling that is surrounded by glassed sliding doors, thus enabling lots of light to come through. This is an airy and bright open plan room that includes the kitchen, dining and living room. All leading out to a large well furnished verandah where you get to experience the unobstructed views of the stunning Great Sound. There is a large flat screen T.V. Plus a bluetooth enabled speaker system so you can enjoy music on the verandah and in the living room. The beauty of this property is that you can see the most spectacular sunrises and within a few minutes on the other side of Morgan Hill toward Elys Harbour, get to experience brilliant Bermuda Sunsets. Behind the front entrance door of sound view, there is a separated area to store shoes, jackets, coats, scarves, hats, etc., this leads into the open plan kitchen that is equipped with a gas stove, microwave, double sink, dishwasher and lots of well stocked cupboards filled with assorted pots n pans; baking dishes; crockery; glasses; cleaning equipment and other supplies. Beyond the kitchen is the inviting open space of the dining and living room areas. In cooler months (the temperature rarely gets below 56F on the coldest of days in our winter months from January to March) there is the option to create a warm fire by the chimney that is situated in the centre of the back living room wall. 'Sound View' has 2 large separate bedrooms. The bathroom is in the centre of these two bedrooms. The master bedroom is well fitted with a comfortable king sized bed that can be separated into 2 good size single beds. (please request preferences); 2 bedside tables with lamps; large comfy armchair; large flat screen television and sound bar if you wish to play music. Extra space is available to fit a crib and or rollaway bed on request. As you enter into the King Size bedroom, there is a very large walk in closet that easily stores suitcases, clothing and other personal belongings. The second bedroom is also very spacious and contains a well furnished queen sized bedroom that has a fitted closet for clothing. The bathroom is modern and large with combination shower/bathtub. Inside the bathroom is a modern stackable washer and dryer. There is also a built in well stocked closet that stores linens, toiletries, and products to wash n dry clothes/linens; iron/ironing board; hair-dryer and more. All of the flooring is laid with wood tiled floor that is laid with scattered rugs in the living and bedroom areas. Very easy to maintain and keep clean. All of the spacious rooms are at ground level, therefore no stairs to climb. Sound View is wheelchair friendly. On the exterior back wall of the cottage there is an outside storage area that stocks inside and outside maintenance equipment. Also on the grounds behind this area there is a vegetable garden. There is also another vegetable garden located at the front of the property along with a children's play area that has a wooden play-house; sand turtle box; swing and toddler size plastic castle with slide. Within seconds on the same property. You have access to a beautiful swimming pool (shared with the owners of Gate House and guests staying at Lemon Drop Cottage. (Special requests can be reviewed by the host). The owners and hosts of 'Sound View' live in the main building called Gate House. Upon arrival, you will be made to feel most welcomed and at home. At Gate House, there is a well trained and very friendly black lab who gets along well with meow, the cat. Baxter the dog loves people of all ages and likes cuddles, whilst Meow is a bit more shy and will keep his distance. For guests traveling with small children, you will have access to toys, books, floating aids, and more. We like to give our guests their space, but we are there to help if and as needed by phone call, email or on Airbnb chat. Sound View Cottage is uniquely located and close to The Railway Trail. This is accessible from the front garden. Here you can walk within 10 minutes to Fort Scaur, 20 minute walk to Somerset Bridge & approximately 20 minute walk to Cavalho Bay where you can take a ferry ride to Hamilton (capital City of Bermuda). Somerset Village is approximately a 30 minute walk away. Also ideal for nature walks along the Great Sound and beautiful Ely's Harbour accessed by our shared dock. Ely's is a wonderful bay to explore, and you will have access with the use of 2 Kayaks and assorted snorkel gear. When you arrive at Sound View, you will be welcomed with a complimentary refreshment package that will include essentials such as milk, bread, cookies, butter, and filtered water. Additional supplies can be arranged on request. (surcharge). Sound View will also be equipped with an information binder that will give a good overview of the cottage and ideas of what to do and see whilst staying in Beautiful Bermuda. The bus stop is located approximately between 5 and 8 minutes down the hill and taxi's can be arranged on request. The beautiful south shore beaches, including the famous Horseshoe Bay are just 20 minutes away by public transportation. Dockyard is a must place to visit and this is only about 15 to 20 minutes away as well. Here you will find coffee shops, restaurants, snorkel park, mini-golf, museum, craft stores, art gallery, glass/pottery studios, marina, cinema and more.
