This stylish space boasts a comfortable queen bed, bar with Namibia quartzite countertops, huge walk in shower, desk space and fast wifi, and living room/TV area. See the whales and dolphins play and the cruise ships come and go while you relax by the pool on the spacious private deck. Enjoy the peacefulness of this upscale retreat just a two minute drive to the beach and 5 minute drive to downtown Hilo. This oceanfront suite is located on the lower level of our two story home. The suite is accessed by walking down a flight of stairs and entering through a private entrance. The unit is completely separate from upstairs which is owner-occupied. The space was fully renovated in 2023 and has a modern open floor plan with tons of natural light streaming through the sliding glass doors and floor-to-ceiling windows. The suite has a queen bed facing the pool and panoramic ocean views, along with a large living area with 50” TV, a bar and kitchenette with mini fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, dishes, etc. Please note that there is NO stovetop, oven, or grill. You will have everything you need to make a simple breakfast or lunch, but may want to explore Hilo’s eclectic dining options for dinners. The space also has a desk area and fast wifi for remote work, a huge walk in shower, spacious closet with luggage racks, and separate toilet/vanity room. Privacy curtains are included on all windows and the room is cooled by three remote controlled ceiling fans and a portable air circulator fan, as well as two large sliding doors that are screened. The outdoor area has an expansive pool deck for lounging, reading or enjoying a meal. We are fortunate in that although we have neighbors, the houses are arranged such that our lower level and pool deck are mostly private and are bordered by garden/yard areas. The neighborhood is upscale and very quiet. You will fall asleep to the sound of waves crashing along the cliffs below. My husband and I live upstairs with our beloved Maltipom Pip. We are quiet but you may hear occasional footsteps or a bark from Pip telling us that a delivery truck has arrived or an unwanted guest (gecko or bug) has snuck inside. We expect that our guests would like to enjoy their privacy, but we are available and welcome any questions about the area or the home you might have. We are very conveniently located to a number of attractions including Akaka Falls (8 mi), the Hawaii Tropical Botanic Garden (3 mi), downtown Hilo (3 mi), and Honoli'i beach park (1 mi) where you can swim in the ocean, plunge in the cold river, and watch surfers gliding along the waves. Guest will have a designated parking spot right next to stairs that descend to suite on lower level. Entry is through sliding glass doors or a side entrance with keypad. The lower level will be your own private space, aside from yard service and pool cleaning which may be done during your visit to keep the space tidy. We will communicate this ahead of time. Myself or my husband are typically on-site and available in person or via phone to help with any issues or questions that may arise.
