Arawak House is a traditional Caribbean style wooden house located above Smuggler’s Cove offering guests one of the most spectacular views in the area. The outside deck and dining area feature a magnificent panoramic view over Long Bay to Cane Garden Bay, a bird’s eye view of Belmont Pond with its flamingos, to the incredible sunset vistas over Smuggler’s Cove and Jost van Dyke. A ten minute walk on a private path places you on the sand in Smuggler’s Cove. Now Gold Seal approved. Located on Belmont Estate, Arawak House stands alone as one of the best values in this coveted locale. It is set in an acre of tropical gardens, with many mature trees and flowering shrubs. The design of the villa is on two levels, lending itself to use by either small or larger groups. On the upper level, a couple can enjoy the convenience and intimacy of bungalow style living. It features AC in the Master bedroom, en suite bathroom (with separate tub and shower), a high-ceilinged living area, washroom, fully equipped kitchen, and deck with dining area. This level features a TV, CD player, radio and a gas BBQ. Three sets of French doors open out to the deck, which is furnished with cushioned lounge and sitting chairs. Ceiling fans in the bedroom and living area supplement the trade winds that cool the house day and night. The lower level is accessed by a stairway to its own large and shaded deck with hammock and entrance. This level features large spaces for family or guest living, including two bedrooms, a large bathroom with shower, a kitchenette, and living area (with a day bed and TV). One bedroom features a queen size bed with two twin beds; the other offers a queen size bed with a single twin. The bedrooms and living area all have ceiling fans. The bedrooms also have AC. Unlimited Wifi is included and has good reception in all rooms for your communication and entertainment needs. Linens are changed and cleaning provided for multi-week rentals. A safe is also provided for additional security. The posted rate is for up to 6 people. Additional people are $20 per person per day. The house can accommodate a 10th person on the daybed with a twin mattress in the common area. Note that both TVs are Smart TVs or have a Roku for you to log into the streaming service of your choice. Arawak House is a private house and you will have the entire house and gardens to yourself. Access to the beach is through a private path to the Lower Road where you can continue the short walk to the beach. We make our house available to you while we are off island. Our local house manager will be pleased to greet you, show you around the house and provide any assistance needed. Arawak House is located in the Belmont area on the western end of Tortola, overlooking one of the best beaches on the island, Smuggler's Cove. Nearby is Soper's Hole, coming back to life after hurricanes Irma and Maria. Rental of a 4 wheel drive vehicle is recommended to fully enjoy the house and the area. We can put you in touch with a rental agency. There are two main ways to get to Tortola. One is flying directly to Beef Island (EIS) which is off the eastern tip of Tortola. Smaller planes fly into Beef Island from other islands or Miami. The other way is to fly to St Thomas (STT) and take the ferry from Charlotte Amalie or Red Hook to Tortola. If a ferry is available to West End that is the closest ferry terminal. Road Town is approximately a 30 minute drive away. Car rental (all wheel drive) is recommended while renting Arawak House.
