INTERIOR: * AIR CONDITIONING/HEATING: High end, whisper quiet air conditioning unit that cools and dehumidifies the studio in seconds and is easy to control to your liking with wall or remote control. It is also a heater if needed for the occasional cool winter evening. Some say you don't need air conditioning in Hawaii but it can get hot and humid at times and it really makes a difference. A rare find among rentals in our area. * CALIFORNIA KING BED w/crisp and modern bedding. * INDOOR SEATING AREA with 2 chairs and a small table. * CEILING FAN w/remote control for nice air flow. * BASIC TOILETRIES: Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body lotion and face wipes. * BEACH ESSENTIALS: Chairs, towels, beach bags, floating noodle, boogie board & small cooler bag with cold pack. * WHITE NOISE MACHINE w/a variety of soothing sounds including ocean waves! * EAR PLUGS for the light sleeper. * LUGGAGE AND SHOE RACKS* IMPORTANT: THERE IS NO TRADITIONAL KITCHEN & THE SUITE IS NOT SET UP FOR PREPARING FOOD OR COOKING. PRE-MADE, READY TO HEAT OR EAT ITEMS & PRE-CUT PRODUCE IS A MUST. Nice and smooth w/gorgeous tropical landscaping and private parking spot. * PRIVATE STONE WALKWAY lined with tropical plants & banana trees. * MOTION ACTIVATED LIGHTING for easy navigation of the parking space and pathway to the suite after dark. * PRIVATE COVERED LANAI w/2 chairs, a table & potted plants. Use the table to set up your laptop and enjoy working in the fresh air! * VIEWS, VIEWS, VIEWS of the ocean horizon and coastline. (Taxes include GET at 4.71% & TAT at 13.25% = 17.96%.) The entire quest studio, private bathroom, walk-in closet and covered deck & private parking space. Enjoy private self check-in but we are available if you have questions or need anything. You may see us in front of the house or working on the grounds. If we see you, we may come out to say hello and introduce ourselves. Residential neighborhood build around a golf course that offers nice morning or evening walks. No amenities within walking distance and no public transportation. Will need a vehicle. * ACCESS/LUGGAGE: You will have to carry your luggage down the stone path from the parking space to the studio and up a short flight of stairs. You cannot roll your luggage so if you have large heavy bags, please be advised. Use care and watch your step when navigating the stone path. (See photos) * LOCATION: This is a quiet, small, rural town away from crowded tourist areas which is part of its charm. Please consider before deducting stars for location in your review. * RESTAURANTS: We have some restaurant options mainly for lunch, including some nice coffee houses BUT dinner and breakfast options are limited and eateries mostly close early. Plan dinners out when you are traveling to neighboring towns and visiting attractions there or grab some food earlier in the day that you can prepare or reheat in the suite for breakfast or dinner. Hours and menus of eateries featured in our guidebook vary and are subject to change without our knowledge so please visit websites or call to verify. Ocean View 15 mins to our west offers more breakfast and dinner options. Volcano Village, 45 mins to the east of us, on the way to the park also has some good restaurants and there are a couple inside the park itself. SEE GUIDEBOOK. * SHOPPING: Shopping is limited in our area so pick up food and drinks for the suite in Kona at (Costco, Target, Walmart & large grocery stores) or Hilo (Target, Walmart & large grocery stores). These will give you more variety and better prices. * CHILD SAFETY: Children are welcome as guests but THE SUITE IS NOT CHILD PROOF. CLEANING SUPPLIES AND CHEMICALS ARE WITHIN EASY REACH UNDER THE SINKS. Parents are responsible to supervise children. *WILDLIFE NOISE: Hawaii Island is teaming with natural wildlife. Coqui frogs (tiny frogs that sing or chirp only at night) and birds early and throughout the morning. If you sleep with door or windows open to enjoy the breeze, you will hear them so we provide a white noise machine to soften sounds and earplugs if needed. If doors/windows are closed, the sound is greatly reduced or non-existent and air conditioning and/or ceiling fan can be utilized for comfort. *REFRIGERATOR in studio does cycle on and off to keep your foods and beverages nice and cold. Like all refrigerators, It can make a low hum at times during the night so if you are a light sleeper, we do provide a white noise machine in the room and ear plugs if needed. *SERVICE ANIMALS are welcome. Let us know at the time of booking that there will be a service animal on the property so we know to expect one and what type of animal it is.
