Our beautiful, little, kid-friendly (pack n' play/high chair), two-bedroom home is new and located a 10 minute walk to the beach in Cerritos. We have high-speed, reliable wifi, perfect for remote workers! Sleep comfortably in our air-conditioned rooms, take a nap in the hammock under the palapa, enjoy drinks under the stars and have fun! Located in Villas De Cerritos Beach resort, is 2012 and 2013 Trip Advisor award winner and a 2016 Certificate of Excellence winner Air-conditioned rooms and powerful overhead fans when you need them Brand new bathrooms with showers (hot and cold) Comfy king and queen beds and linens A safe in the master closet (front desk has key) Nice living area to work or relax Hi speed WiFi Outside shower for after-surf Rooftop deck for hanging out and checking the surf Great neighbors Awesome, heated pool and 2 hot tubs Laundry service via the front desk (1-day turnaround, ask Lupita). Space to park your car or RV safely nearby Lots of local restaurants Great surf 10 minutes walk down the road Pets are allowed for an additional fee - message me for details! There's a lot to love about Cerritos Beach! What first caught our attention is just how friendly everyone is! The residents of the Baja are hard-working, capable, and resourceful people, they love kids and are overwhelmingly helpful. The weather is always great, and when it gets too hot, the beach is right there or the pool is a 2 minute walk from our front door. The food options are starting to shift from awesome to incredible. I list all of our recommendations separately, but here's a quick note: Pizza Napoli in our resort community is open year round and has amazing, brick oven pizza. Barracuda might be the best fish taco you have have, along with fabulous cocktails. Shaka's is a jamming little Texas-themed sports bar just 5 minutes from the casita on Cerritos road. Great drinks, great food and the owner is a sweet guy. Palmar in San Pedrito has great coffee and breakfast. Baja Beans in El Pescadero hosts an artisan market with live music every weekend. Hierbabuena, Siempre Vive and Agricole in El Pescadero are farm to table restaurants with seasonal menus and sublime open air settings. Amaya Beach Bar in San Pedrito offers great sunset views and live music. Finally, Noah's Sushi is open for lunch and dinner, serving impeccable sushi dishes. Cerritos Beach is the only safe swimming and surfing beach in this area, however, like the ocean anywhere, please use caution when swimming next to the rock on the north side of the beach. It looks calm and usually is, but there can be a very strong riptide. Watch what other swimmers and surfers are doing. If there’s nobody in the water, it’s likely for good reason. There are several places to rent boards and take surf lessons, but we recommend Mario Surf School, which is located next to the beach restaurant. You can book in advance on their website and also arrange a board rental. A larger board selection (from beginner to advanced) can be found at their surf shop located next to Baja Bean, the Pescadero Surf Shop. Todos Santos is a government-designated "Pueblo Magical," a distinction that grants them federal revenue to maintain their brick-cobbled roads and other historical features of this thriving artists' community. There are countless artisan shops where you can get everything from ceramics to hammocks, high-end art galleries, and several clothing boutiques. There are several small grocery stores in and around TS and El Pescadero, but we recommend Salgado and Agricole. Salgado has a mix of local and imported fruits and veggies, local ranch eggs (ask at the counter in the back), as well as all of the other household basics you might need. They have many Costco items at a markup but it saves the dreaded trip to Cabo! Agricole is a high-end market with fresh-baked breads and pastries, prepared burritos foods, specialty items, and seasonal organic greens. What I love most about the area is how we have both the mountains and the ocean! It's a bit of a trek to get to the Sierra de Laguna (but worth it, look up Fox Canyon, Santiago), but there are several short hikes in the area that offer wonderful ocean views! First, just exit the casita and start walking! I like to walk down towards the beach and up the hill past Desert Moon Hotel, which will lead you to a beautiful and short ridge walk. You can't go wrong just wandering around the hills though! Second, head to Punto Lobos. It starts at the abandoned cannery. Once you reach the midpoint of the hike, you can choose different routes: go up the hill on your right, walk straight to the sea lion lookout, or walk down to the Old Port. If the water is calm, I recommend taking a kayak or paddle tour at Punto Lobos with Mario Surf School. It is also possible to take a fishing boat from Punto Lobos, and during the winter you will surely see several whales while you are out! You do not need 4WD to get here or get around (unless you plan on heading to some of the harder to reach surf or mountain spots). We're only 60km (45 minutes) from Cabo proper, 100km (1 hour 15 min) from the airport. I've received recommendations for Cactus and MEX Rent a Car. We turn the propane gas line off for the stove if there's a long pause (ex: Hurricane Season) between stays. The front desk will turn it on for you if we forgot to tell them ahead of time. We'll also provide a lighter to light the pilot on the stove if the propane was off. Showers: Please put the drain plugs back over the shower drain when you're finished.
