Uniquely this condo has a full barn door partition so the bedroom can be completely separated from the living space. This condo is one of the few rented second story units in phase one of Puesta del Sol. Casa Madera has a king size bed, pull out queen bed and one full bathroom. Guests have access to the full condo and public pool area. Free parking surrounds the walled complex. The public space does provide security cameras. Rachel and Alex, the owners of our PM company, live minutes away from the complex, but do not live on site. Please reach out to them before and during your stay. You will have a binder in the condo upon arrival with many local recommendations and maps. To note: This unit was listed in the past as a rental; however, we switched rental companies as of February 2021 so had to create a new airbnb site. You will not see any reviews for this reason. We are situated in southern Baja on the Pacific side, situated between La Paz and San Jose del Cabo, Cerritos Beach is the perfect surf/beach getaway in any season, while Cabo is only an hour drive away if you still want that night on the town. We do work hard to manage expectations when booking a trip to Cerritos and surrounding areas. We love our guests to have this understanding before arrival, which helps turn on the 'go with the flow' attitude this area demands. Cerritos, Pescadero and surrounding areas are considered RURAL Mexico. Infrastructure and certain amenities are still developing in many ways. Electricity is fairly new to this area (within the last 3 years), so there are times of power outages, while becoming more and more rare, it is worth mentioning. Many systems are only on solar and are not tied into the power grid in any way, solely relying on sunny days. Cerritos is fully dependent on water being trucked in from the local aquifers. It is always important to conserve water, and if water does go out, let the PM know and we will get a truck in to fill the cistern. Driving at night is dangerous due to cows on the road or cars without headlights (not banditos!) Please go slow. Most roads off the main highway are dirt and all roads in the area have potholes with lots of bumps. Most roads do not have street names, and houses do not have addresses. You must rely on the maps provided and do a little research of your own. Baja midnight is considered 9:00pm, and expect many businesses to close at this time. Buildings typically leak during rains, and water can come under doors depending on the amount of rain. We are in the desert with many new human inhabitants, therefore, the natives do make appearances. We attempt to mitigate this as much as possible, but please do not be surprised if you see a mouse or two, flies and gnats (bobos), ants, scorpions, or a rare snake. This area is considered safe, but we do still have petty theft. Please lock electronics and valuables in safes or locked cabinets when you are not home. We recommend trip insurance as unfortunately we cannot refund for weather or rural Mexico related incidents. We highly recommend renting a car. While there are a few restaurants within walking distance of the condo, if you plan to go into Todos Santos, eat at the many gems in the area, or find different surf spots, a car in almost necessary. If you know you will stay close to home, we will happily set up airport transportation for you. We can also arrange transportation for a 4-8 hour day trip if you'd like to get out for a quick adventure. Please let us know in advance so we can make sure the car service is scheduled properly. One thing that we enjoy is that our area is becoming a "foodie destination". There are many local restaurants and food vendors that serve amazing food and more great ones to discover on every trip! From the simplest of fish tacos and great Mexican cuisine, baked goods to fine French dining, there is something to delight everyone. When you leave the conveniences of your home, entering this beautiful region of rural Mexico, you leave behind the expectations that everything is going to happen smoothly.
