Local assistance is available on North Caicos upon request. North Caicos is the garden isle of the Turks and Caicos. It’s uncrowded and extremely quiet. The people are very friendly and accommodating. Sights on the island include Cottage Pond, Wade's Green Plantation, Flamingo Pond, Monkey Hill, Three Marys Cays and Horsestable Beach. North Caicos is connected to Middle Caicos via a causeway enabling you to drive over to explore and enjoy the beaches and sites over there during your stay. The TCI Ferry-Caribbean Cruisin’ is a 30-minute ride from Providenciales to North Caicos which disembarks at the Bellefield Landing Marina. ($35 one-way, $65 return) Sagusta Gardens Apartments are a 15 minute drive from there. Local cell phone is provided for your use during your stay. Mosquitoes and sandflies can sometimes be an issue, so pack along some mosquito repellent and baby oil. The locals say baby oil prevents sandfly bites! Dining on North Caicos There are a number of options for local dining in Whitby and along the Highway. You have Shadows Take Out; The Barracuda Beach Bar (also located at Pelican Beach Hotel) and Silver Palm Restaurants all nearby. Then there are Aquatic Restaurant and Bar; My Dees Restaurant, Bar and Grill and a few others that are located on the highway. For persons who wish to prepare their own meals, you can purchase foodstuff from KJ’s Food just at the end of East Street on the highway. Please don't forget your sunscreen!
