A boutique hotel on a local Maldivian island. My partner Anne and I are avid travelers ourselves and made a place that we ourselves would stay at. Despite being on a local island, we make our own fresh bread, ice cream, pizzas, etc. We also have cozy tech friendly rooms (lots of power sockets, USB plugs, fast WiFi). We also arrange excursions for the area so whether it's water sports, scuba diving, island hopping or fishing, we got your back! Bliss Dhigurah is a 15 room guest house on the gorgeous local island Dhigurah in South Ari Atoll. We're right by the South Ari Marine Protected Area (SAMPA), which is home to whale sharks, mantas and other mega fauna. This is for one of our standard rooms. Rooftop area (jacuzzis, tanning beds, etc.), dining area, coffee shop, kid's corner, gym, main lobby area, beach umbrellas, bean bags, tanning beds, towels, etc. Typically, you'll meet either Anne or myself. If we're not around, it's because we are off getting our dose of travel and adventure :-) Dhigurah is a popular destination even among the locals. It literally means "long island" and is famous for the sand bank at the tip of the island. We also are lucky to have a wooded area whereas most inhabited Maldivian islands are more urbanized. There are several ways we may arrange your transportation from Velana International Airport: 1) shared speedboat transfer - 2 scheduled speedboats a day, one at 11am, the next one at 4pm (10am & 3pm on Fridays): with approximate travel time of 2 hours; cost is USD65 per person/way (USD50/way for kids below the age of 12)* 2) domestic flight from Velana International Airport to Maamigili (20 minutes), followed by a 20 minutes boat ride from Maamigili to Dhigurah; cost is USD175 per person/way (USD85/way for kids below the age of 12)* 3) shared sea plane transfer from Velana International Airport to Lux Maldives (30 minutes), followed by a 5 minutes boat ride: cost is USD260 per person/way(USD180/way for kids under the age of 12)* *subject to weather *subject to availability *timings and prices are subject to change Being respectful to other guests and our staff is all we ask for. The restaurant is usually open till 10:30PM but most folks prefer to call it a night before that and start the day early.
