There is a separate conventional full bathroom next door (American-style bathtub with wall-mounted shower). Loft level bedroom and bathroom (note: this is open to living room below): One queen log canopy bed. Bath in bedroom is open and designed without walls (European-style soaking tub; no shower) Living room: One double sleeper sofabed. Drive to Columbia Glacier, the largest non-polar ice-cap in the world, hop on a snocoach and walk on the face of the glacier! Or, for a taste of the Wild West, hop on a wagon picnic excursion or saddle up a horse. Hikers will find thousands of miles of maintained trails. Try heli-hiking, and have a helicopter drop you off at the top of a remote peak, pick you up at the bottom, after you take a leisurely hike down! And then there is golf. With 6 world-class golf courses and 135 spectacular holes nearby, Canmore is a golfer's mecca. Three courses (Stewart Creek, Silvertip and Canmore Golf & Curling Club) are within a few minutes' drive... Winter Activities: Winter is romantic and simply magical. Ice-skate, snowshoe, snowmobile, dog-sled, ice-fish, ski and more, in postcard-perfect surroundings! Follow the tracks of wolves and learn the hunting patterns of owls in snowshoe excursions. Take guided ice walks through Johnston and Grotto Canyons. Experience the world of suspended waterfalls and massive blue ice pillars, frozen in time. Go on a guided ice-fishing expedition in the toasty warmth of heated huts! Enjoy sleigh rides, or let a team of huskies whisk you through breathtaking scenery on dogsleds. Snowmobile through the back roads and wilderness areas. Or soar over the stunning landscapes of the Continental Divide in a helicopter! Then there's world class skiing and snowboarding on dry champagne powder. Banff/Lake Louise was recently voted 'Best Ski Resort of the World' by the London Daily Telegraph! Five downhill ski areas are within easy reach of Birch Haven, with Norquay, Sunshine and Nakiska within a 15-30 minute drive. Although you can get by without a car (there are shuttles, buses etc), we highly recommend a car. That is because this is one part of the world where driving is sheer pleasure. Every bend is a new awesome vista! We provide heated underground, secured parking for 1 car. Additional cars can park in visitor parking areas outdoors. This is a no-pets, no-smoking/vaping, no-cannabis property. We do not generally allow events/parties. If you are unsure, please contact the owner to discuss BEFORE booking. Children are welcome, but must be supervised by adults, and stay at their own risk. DISCLAIMERS: Please be aware due to mountain conditions, we cannot guarantee 24/7 wifi as provider outages that are beyond our control sometimes can occur. The gym and hot-tubs are shared amenities. There are 3 hot-tubs in the building complex (2 rooftop and 1 indoor), so there is usually at least one that is open. However, we cannot guarantee availability as they are subject to periodic closure due to cleaning/maintenance, extreme weather, Covid advisories etc. The building management and/or authorities have the right to close the amenities without prior notice to ensure the safety of guests. No discounting will be given for amenity closures, if any. WHEN COMPARISON SHOPPING, BE SURE TO CONSIDER THIS: The Havens is LEGALLY ZONED for short-term tourist rentals, and duly licensed. Unfortunately, this is not the case for the vast majority of properties in Canmore. Don't risk losing your payments or disrupting your vacation due to crackdowns on illegally-operated properties.
