Pura Vida is two luxurious private homes, comfortable retreat situated high above the Caribbean Sea on its own secluded 10 acre estate. All rates include seasonal island fruits and hot tea/coffee in the morning. The manor is nestled in the lush mountain side overlooking the Caribbean seascape. Upon entering our homes you will be whisked away into comfortable luxury designed to cradle you in comfort while uplifting your spirits. Our guest rooms will surround you with the island warmth of elegant decor and furnishings while creating the back drop for your unforgettable visit. The property is an environment in which guests will have access to the entire grounds, property, technology and vegetation. All units have their own private entrances and guests are free to roam all the communal spaces (garden and lawn, laundry) the spacious villa has to offer. Pura Vida is a quaint villa. We pride ourselves on the personal touch when dealing with our guests. Interaction is given liberally without crowding the guests’ space. Our guests are our responsibility while they are with us on the island. Hence we ensure that our guests are not only comfortable but are briefed on the intricacies of the Jamaican culture. We provide guidance to our guests on a day to day basis to ensure that their idea of Jamaica and Puravida is enjoyed if not surpassed. The villa is located in the quaint neighborhood of Hague, a suburb of the historic Georgian town of Falmouth. Once considered a sleepy town, Falmouth’s main economic activity was fishing and spin off of the tourism from Montego Bay and Ochi Rios. We are fortunate to be located a few minutes’ drive down the road from one of the world’s natural wonders, Glistening Waters Luminous Lagoon, where the Martha Brae River meets the Caribbean Sea, The micro-organisms, called dinoflagellates or pryodinium bahamene, thrive in the salt and fresh waters that combine into brackish waters. Studies show that this bay is one of the best places to experience this scientific mystery. Swimming in the shallow, warm 3-8 feet water, stirs these micro-organisms to life, in glowing brilliance. The real cultural history of our town can be enjoyed by strolling or driving through town as well as a daily walking tour offered by community members. If you are more inclined to fishing, there is a lovely fishing beach to cast away into the turquoise blue waters of the Caribbean Sea with numerous fisherman to tell you tales of their rich experiences fishing our waters. Several white, sandy beaches are located nearby where you can swin, lounge, read, drink and people watch the day away for a small entrance fee. The villa is located between Montego Bay and Ocho Rios, approximately 20 miles east of Sangster International Airport. Convenient, safe and comfortable transportation can be arranged to and from the airport, into Falmouth or to other tourist destinations like Martha Brae river rafting, Dunn’s River Falls or jumping into Blue Hole. Falmouth is a must see town on anyone's visit to Jamaica and so many other tourist attractions or beaches within a short distance. Come and have your taste buds thoroughly tantalized as you enjoy our local food tour of pure Jamaican dishes and ingredients, either on property or out and about in town.
