My concierge will contact you before your travel to coordinate a meeting, at the St. John passenger ferry or car barge dock, upon your arrival. He will escort you to pick up your rental car and give you an indoctrination at UP ON THE ROCKS. He can easily be contacted should any problem arise during your stay. UP ON THE ROCKS is Less than a mile from Cruz Bay where you can catch ferries to other islands, enjoy some great restaurants and bars, markets for food and necessities shopping, mail services, nail salons, coffee and cappuccino shop, and more. Other beaches and restaurants on the island are convenient as well, since St. John is only about 13 miles long. We recommend renting a car for your entire stay on St. John. The island is two-thirds national park. There are 35 beaches, countless trails and vistas to explore. The public transportation being very limited, your visit to paradise will be greatly enhanced with the freedom to explore our beautiful island, that is afforded by having your own car. Public parking is free throughout the island and at sites in the park. In Cruz Bay, free parking and ample pay parking, at a nominal rate, is always available.
