The Art Studio 500 Guest Loft is conveniently located in historic downtown Morehead City overlooking the waterfront. This unique, spacious loft offers a welcoming atmosphere filled with art & antiques. W/in walking distance to the famous Sport fishing fleet, Yacht Basin, great restaurants, several bars & many shops on the waterfront. Only minutes away to historic Beaufort, Crystal Coast Beaches, Fort Macon & NC Aquarium. Gourmet chef's kitchen, rooftop lounge & hot tub top it all off! Welcome to our Guest Loft! The entrance to your private guest quarters leads to a cozy library/office area with several desk choices for anyone working from home. There is a hallway area that will lead you to your private, full bathroom featuring a large tub/shower & spacious vanity with plenty of built-in storage. Stairs off this hallway lead you up half a level to the bedroom area with a queen sized bed, another desk, & a dresser for clothing storage. The rest of the 2nd floor luxury loft home is shared with the guests in the Primary Suite, which is found on the opposite side of the building from the Guest Suite. Guests rarely see each other during stays, but often outside of summer you may be the only guests here. Start your day with a cup of organic French roast coffee made fresh each morning for you by your host while you enjoy the sunrise from the rooftop lounge. Cook your dinner in the well equipped gourmet chef's kitchen & watch the boats going by in the Harbor Channel while you eat from the huge window in the dining area. . Finish your days with a soak in the rooftop hot tub while you watch the sunset over the Yacht Basin or enjoy a movie on the 65" 4k TV in the living room. Life is sweet here at the coast! This building has a very interesting historical background. Originally built in 1904 as the Tide Water & Power building and authentically re-engineered, restored, and re-purposed as Art Studio 500, (Gallery, studio, and loft living space) in 2004. The walls are 16" thick solid masonry, and all the windows are rated to withstand 200 MPH hurricane winds, which makes it very quiet inside with very little street noise. From the roof deck, there are over 300° of water views of the ICW, Port, Haystacks, Yacht basin, dramatic sunrises, and sun sets. Guests will have full access to all the shared living space on the second floor, including gourmet chef's kitchen, the rooftop deck with seating area and hot tub, and the exclusive use of the Guest Suite Loft and attached bathroom. I am generally always around to help my guests in any way I can while still giving you all the space you need to make your stay enjoyable. I'm happy to give you ideas of places to see and activities around town. I do have a little toy poodle (Mr. Toodles) who does not shed, is hypoallergenic, and very friendly. This is a very safe, little to no crime, historic neighborhood. There are 18 restaurants & bars within walking distance as well as a nearby pool hall, Ax throwing facilities, and may shops, scuba diving, boating, fishing, and other activities on the waterfront across the street. The loft apartment is on the 2nd story of the building, so be aware that there is a staircase you must climb to get to the apartment. This apartment is not suitable for children. The home is not childproofed at all and is filled with antiques and art and has access to the rooftop and hot tub. Hot tub use is dependent upon weather conditions. It is not safe to open the lid to the tub if the wind is blowing too hard. We use natural based, unscented laundry detergent and no chemical dryer sheet products to launder all linens and towels for each guest's stay. Since the pandemic, I have taken every precaution to keep this place safe by adding a UV enhanced, antibacterial HEPA air filtration system.
