We are perched atop a hill with a gorgeous view of the Caribbean Sea and the capital, St. Johns. The apartment is 10 minutes from the airport, downtown St. Johns, and the beach, so it is very well located. The apartment has its own entrance so you have privacy. A bottle of our homemade rum punch awaits you when you arrive! Breakfast is available for order. Just ask! All types of people are welcome. :-) The bnb is unique in the way the veranda is covered in flowers creating a private little place to relax in peace while looking out towards the islands of St. Kitts and Nevis (on a clear day). While it is a studio apartment, it is quiet, very comfortable in its cozy style, and in a fantastic location on the island. The apartment contains our own little eclectic of home crafted furniture and stylish period pieces from the turn of the century. There are a few books to read if you want a book or two during your stay. The space has a small kitchen with a fridge, a toaster oven, toaster, microwave, a coffee pot and a kettle, and a variety of teas and coffees. The studio apartment has a small veranda, but you can wander through other parts of our property. The pool can be used, but we do not have a lifeguard so we recommend that you take special care and we request that you don't go in the pool if you are alone. We welcome all arrivals to make sure that you get settled, especially with our complimentary bottle of Nicole's Old Fashioned Rum Punch. We like people and we typically interact quite regularly with our guests even having a drink or two at a time. Our neighborhood, known as Cedar Valley, is quiet and comfortable and located a few miles from St. Johns, the capitol. It is somewhat rural but a short distance from the beach, the Port, capitol, and airport. We live very close to the only 18 course golf course on the island. In fact, we live right off the 16th hole and can hear the occasional whack of a club and yell of "Fore!". A number of restaurants are within a mile of our home so if you want to eat out, you won't have far to go. If you like to take a walk or job, many use the golf course or Adam runs the back roads and can suggest routes for you. We have a large parking area for a rental car and are also a short walk from a pickup area for a local bus. We walk a lot so note that a "short walk" for us is about a quarter of a mile. Also please note that the buses are not public so they tend to run on their own schedule. Our home is eco-friendly. We have large cisterns that store our water, solar water heaters, and solar panels. We do our own composting, raise chickens (with our daughter Em selling eggs) and have built much of the furniture that we use on our veranda and other parts of our home. We grow some of our food especially herbs we use to season our recipes.
