Beautiful apartment just steps from Cuernavaca's historic center, this secluded 750-foot apt is located on an acre with fruit trees surrounding a breathtaking garden and pool. Fully equipped kitchen, parking, two full baths, one with bathtub. The apartment is in a hundred year building, and was renovated the best we could with our contractors. It is inside a beautiful, lush property. There is lots of light and ample space. It was a weekend escape for my granddad, a film director from the Golden Age of Cinema in Mexico (40s-50s), Miguel Zacarias, who has a huge entry in IMDB. The apartment itself was built a hundred years ago, we did our best to renew it completely, but you might find little issues that we will try our best to solve. The rest of the place has been described as a beautiful tropical ruin. It is important to note that Cuernavaca is a city, even if the property has a huge garden, there is a street which happens to have cars passing by, which can be bothersome for persons used to live in the mountains or places where sound pollution norms are enforced. There are not heavy trucks though most of the year, but there are a couple of weeks in september in which a main road in Cuernavaca gets closed because of Tlaltenango fairy, so they divert even trucks through this road. We Mexicans from Mexico city find it to be quite calm, and can't tell anything but oxygen, but people from places where acoustic and other types of pollution are properly monitored and have environmental laws enforced have found the street outside to be a busy road, with fumes coming into the place. So please consider this if you are very sensitive to these issues. The other apartment has less noise, since it does not view to the street. You will have access to the pool, ping pong table, swings, and gardens. Since the property is so large, wifi covers 90%. As the section's title "services and common areas" indicates, these areas are accessible to the other guests which are very few (at most 3 other families). We take COVID very seriously so we enforce social distancing, which is not hard since we have an acre of space. Sometimes we schedule the times for each family, some other times we might just wait til the other guys move, it's up to the mood of the guests. The main pool in NOT heated, for it has 16000 liters and very few pools in Cuernavaca have this (the coldest months in weather we have about 22 C, or about 70 F, so its mostly warm and it does not make a lot of sense for us to get into a hot broth. The best months are april and may, when water gets to 28 degrees Celsius about 83 degrees Farenheit (warmer than the olympic standard). It goes down to 15 degrees C (59 Farenheit)at its coldest, during january and febraury, being at 21 C (70 F) most of the rest of the year. I will receive you and give you a key to the gate. I may be able to make arrangements to meet you and pick you up at the bus terminal at the start of the week. I live and work in in Mexico City becasuse of work, but I can't stay away from the Cuernavaca house! I'm there each week, Monday to Wednesday. I live in another house on the property with Zaira, my aunt, a full-time resident. She speaks a little English but understands everything, and she is very kind and patient. Should translation be necessary, I can be reached by phone at any time to handle English or French. Communication is VERY important for us, as we are not proffessional, so we can improve whatever we can during your stay El Calvario, part of Cuernavaca's Centro Histórico, is just one block from the house. In the center you can find all the historic highlights and many restaurants, bars, and amentities. Leaving the house, you will find the Parque Linear Amanalco, a beautiful park for strolling. This part of Cuernavaca was developed in the fifties, so you'll get to appreciate that kind of architecture. The neighborhood is calm. Parking space is available, and parking for more than one car is possible. You can get around Cuernavaca by taxi or the Ruta public buses that come down our street. We are located very near the bus station Casino de la Selva, where you can connect to Mexico DF's southern hub, terminal Taxqueña, or the Mexico City Airport. Please bring sunblock and insect repellant (this is always around, but bring your own if you need a special kind). It must be noted that the apartment is close to a street, no big trucks and seldom ambulances, but we have had a couple of guests (out of dozens) who have thought it is noisy, so if you are very sensitive to sound, we would recommend the other options. We regret not having the environmental laws (and enforcement) forbidding cars on the street. There are two dogs living in the property, it is important to note in case any of your family members has any allergy or phobia.
