With a large and shared open concept kitchen, it creates a budget friendly experience so you can make your own meals how and when you would like. There are no grocery stores or ATMs in the area, please plan ahead accordingly. We do however have some local restaurants nearby, please find more descriptions and prices in our neighborhood section found below. Casa Horizon offers a number of beverages that can be purchased at our location including: beer, rum, wine, juice and, soda. We also have a seasonal onsite massage therapist, as well as, a neighboring jungle spa with local massages who offer an affordable $30USD 60 minute deep tissue or relaxation massage. Where rustic meets luxury, our space holds all the things to ensure you feel at home. Our large patio eating area is perfect for groups or family style meals. The spacious courtyard is surrounded by papaya trees and flowers you can view while lounging in one of our many hammocks giving a secluded vacation feel. The living room is a great space for travelers to swap stories and connect and an area that has hosted many music jams and movie nights. Last but certainly not least, our monumental yoga studio complete with yoga mats, bolsters and, blocks for those looking to host retreats or who are looking to flow through their own self-care practice. From a breezy yoga ocean flow to scouting waves to surf this view has it all. Playa Escameca is well known for surfing as the you will find the ideal offshore winds thats give the wave good shape. We are blessed with consistent surf and you can catch good waves any month in the year. Activities at Casa Horizon include: surfboard rentals and lessons, horseback riding, fishing and yoga classes at the studio next door. We love our space and know that you will enjoy this oasis as much as we do! We are here to ensure you make the most of our special nature reserve and paradise beach that we are so fortunate to be situated at. We would like guests to have as much privacy as you would like, but there is always the option to socialize with others at the residence. Our slice of paradise is nestled along Playa Escameca within the Costa Dulce community where the jungle meets the ocean. There are many hidden gems within this neighbourhood, some include a Turtle Hatchery located on the beach, steps away from Casa Horizon. This grass roots project is successfully ran by an organization named Vital Actions. The Beach Rancho is our favorite local spot which is directly located on the beach. They offer fresh food and cold drinks, all at affordable prices. May we recommend the whole fish and a tasty mojito for a perfect meal. Further down the beach you can find a natural fed estuary home to many local animals such as birds and monkeys, which can be explored on a paddleboard, rented at your leisure. The Neighbouring retreat centre, Costa Dulce, supplies 3 daily healthy and delicious family style meals. You are able to register for meals individually or for the daily meal plan. Breakfast and lunch $10 each and dinner is $15. Another yummy option for those looking to have their meals catered is Rancho Terre, a local restaurant that is available for groups of 6 or more. The options can be done for single meals or as a full day meal plan which has worked nicely with retreats and group dining experiences in the past. A must see view point lookout, located a short walk away, is great for catching sunsets. This spot has hosted many proposals and weddings, along with being a location seen in the popular show Survivor in 2010. We are located half an hour south of San Juan del Sur along the stunning Playa Escameca. Shuttles are available upon request.
