If you are looking for a private getaway with magnificent views of the Caribbean, you owe it to yourself to visit Villa Arches! The Arches is a secluded 3 bedroom, 3.5 bath luxury villa with a private pool that overlooks Dawn Beach and Oyster Pond. Tastefully decorated, this wonderful villa provides a great escape for that once in a lifetime family vacation, honeymoon or special anniversary. The views from the Arches are truly stunning and your stay with us will be the most memorable ever! Housekeeping services are available 6 days per week. Our home is maintained by a lovely couple who have been caretakers of the property for almost two decades. They will clean on a mutually agreed upon schedule and are on-call 24-hours a day should a problem arise. Our home manager will meet you at the airport (additional fee) or at the villa to provide keys, gate access and a tour of Villa Arches. The Arches is a private home, yet convenient to all amenities including restaurants, shopping, casinos, water sports and much more. We are only a 10-minute drive to the famous Orient Beach! Guests are welcome to access all areas of the home. Owners closets are locked and unavailable to guests. Villa Arches' owner is generally available via text and/or email. However, during your stay, our home manager will be available via local phone for questions. Villa Arches is located in a gated community, Oyster Pond Estates. Many of the homes in our neighborhood are occupied, full-time, by either locals or families who have permanently relocated to St. Maarten. Oyster Pond Estates is a 10-minute drive from Phillipsburg, the capital of Dutch St. Maarten and home to the Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM). The entrance to French St. Martin is just minutes outside the entrance to our neighborhood. Directly below our home, you overlook Dawn Beach and Oyster Pond (marina), both accessible by car. If you are adventurous, you could walk to Dawn Beach; however, the walk back is ALL uphill! It's a great morning workout in preparation for all the wonderful food and beverages you will encounter throughout your day. Dawn Beach is well known on the island for its spectacular snorkeling. While we are on the Dutch side (St. Maarten) of the island, you are also overlooking Oyster Pond which begins the French side (St. Martin) of the island. A rental car is highly suggested. We do drive on the right side of the road. Taxis are available; however, tend to be expensive. At this time, ride sharing is not available in St. Maarten/St. Martin. St. Maarten is the Dutch side of the island where our home resides. The official currency of Dutch St. Maarten is the Guilder. The other side of the island is St. Martin, which is French. Their official currency is the Euro; however, both sides of the island will accept the US Dollar. In some instances, on the French side, restaurants will offer 1:1 if you pay in cash/US Dollars. Visa and Master Card are widely accepted. Smaller restaurants, however, may not accept credit cards. ATMs dispense Guilders and Dollars on the Dutch side and Euros on the French side. St. Maarten/St. Martin does not require that you carry your passport while traveling from one side of the island to the other. However, you should carry a valid driver's license. Although Dutch and French are the official languages on the respective sides, English is widely spoken.
