Sun-drenched 1st fl apt in 2-family Victorian, steps from Northampton's vibrant downtown. 2 spacious queen bedrooms, 1 bedroom/study with pull-out king. Pine-paneled kitchen with breakfast bar; open living/dining room; stereo with turntable and vintage record collection; home theater with projector. Private deck. Wood floors throughout apartment. 42" HDTV in master bedroom. Hi-speed Internet. Laundry room in basement with washer/dryer (shared with upstairs apt). Shared heated pool (Mar-Nov). In addition to your private apartment, and your own private deck with table and chairs, you will have access to outdoor areas behind the house next door, shared with other Airbnb guests and residents of the 3-building complex, including: (1) Heated 3-season swimming pool (36 ft x 10 ft = 11 m x 3 m; 4 ft = 1.2m deep, no deep end). The pool is shared by other airbnb guests and residents of our other units. The pool is open from April through November and has a lounge area with chairs, tables, and recliners for hanging out by the pool. Inflatable tubes, beach balls, water wings, a pool basketball hoop, and other pool toys and games are available for your use. (2) Shared garden, with double wooden swing (for adults as well as children), children's play gym, and garden toys. You will have access to the entire private apartment, private deck with table and chairs, as well as shared yard next door, with 4' deep pool, gardens, wooden swing, and children's play area with large play gym and smaller slides for younger children. My husband and I live next door, and are usually available to greet you and show you around when you arrive, if you wish. However, there is keyless entry for you to let yourselves in, and most guests prefer the flexibility that that provides. However, we are always available to answer any questions, help with any problems that come up, and provide tips about tourism around the area or any other topic. In the warm weather, we happily share our yard next door (including kids’ gym and play area, and pool) with Airbnb guests. We enjoy meeting and chatting with folks, but we respect guests’ privacy and always leave it up to you to to decide how much interaction you want. Your apartment is steps from downtown, yet it's on a quiet tree-lined street in a typical New England neighborhood with old Victorians, gardens, and people out walking their dogs. Walk out the door and you are two blocks, 5 minutes, from Main Street with its numerous well-known restaurants, shops, cafes, bars, breweries, and dispensaries. You are three minutes’ walk from the historic grand old Hotel Northampton, and Northampton's three-season farmers' market is one block away. Four nationally and internationally known live music and entertainment venues are also a short walk from your home-away-from-home. You are about a 7-minute walk to the Smith College campus where you can visit an art museum and an impressive greenhouse open to the public, or just take a pleasant stroll through the lovely campus which includes a lake and scenic waterfall. Everything you might need at home is steps from your door. State Street Fruit Store, a neighborhood grocery, deli, and excellent wine shop, is two blocks away at 51 State St. Across the street is Hungry Ghost, an award-winning bakery that turns out the most delicious breads in Massachusetts from their wood-fired ovens every day—until they run out, which can happen anytime. Sutter's Meat Market, at 65 King St. (an even closer walk from your apartment), sells meats from local farms. If you crave fresh fish, visit North Shore Seafood, our local fish market that gets its fish delivered directly from Boston's fish piers; it's at 166 King St., a five-minute walk from your place. On the way you'll pass our local coffee joint, Shelburne Falls Coffee Roasters, 4 minutes from home. For restaurants, shops, and nightlife galore, head to the intersection of Main and Pleasant, two blocks away, and explore in any direction. If you're a light sleeper, please be forewarned that this is an older home and sound can carry from the Airbnb apartment directly over you.
