Nestled in the heart of Downeast Maine, our cottages are a peaceful retreat. You can enjoy fishing, canoeing, swimming and more. This single level cottage features a field-stone fireplace as well as a woodstove and monitor heater. It has a kitchen, dining area, living room, bathroom with shower and two bedrooms that sleep 4. Both bedrooms have 2 twin beds. The large screened porch overlooks the river. This cottage is very private, nestled in the woods on the bank of the river beyond Cottage #1. You have free access to: Wireless internet (may be limited in the bedrooms) Boats & canoes with life jackets Swimming & fishing on the premises Free wood for fireplaces and wood-stoves Play area with swingset, horseshoes, volleyball & badminton A large library of DVDs for you to borrow (you must bring something on which to watch them; there are no televisions or DVD players in the cottages) A picnic table and outdoor charcoal grill After check-in we interact with guests infrequently. You are left to enjoy your vacation. If you need help however, we live right on the property. Teresa & Bill’s home and the 7 cottages are located on the same large property in Edmunds Twp, Maine, United States. The cottages are in a wooded area with privacy maintained for each. Edmunds Township is in a very rural area within 30 minutes of a variety of coastal towns and activities. The property boasts a man-made pond and the Dennys River. We are also only a few hundred yards from the Sunrise Trail. The closest stores are in Pembroke, a 6-mile drive. There is a Dollar General and a Freshies. These have some groceries and takeout options. The closest sit-down restaurant is 12 miles from us in Perry, but most are located in the towns of Machis, Calais, Eastport and Lubec which are a 20 to 30-mile drive. Many restaurants and stores close early here, so it's best to call ahead for hours if you are planning a later arrival. All of the cottages have a kitchen so cooking for yourself is a money-saving option. Coming from the north, the last stop for groceries is Calais and coming from the south, the last stop for groceries is Machias. Both are about 25 miles from us. There are also grocery stores in Eastport and Lubec which are just over 20 miles. There is no public transportation. The cottage can be accessed by car and there is free parking. The light switch for the outside light is inside the cottage, to the right of the door up high. Please take note of the provided directions. Unfortunately, GPS will at times take people down a dirt road rather than following the paved nearby roads. Also, GPS does not always bring people to our exact location and may miss us by a mile or more in one direction or another. If you have any issues, please call us.
