Our house is close to the hub of village life in Hopkins. Stores, restaurants & access to activities are within a few minutes walk of the house. You’ll love my place because you can eat in or dine locally. The deck is a favourite spot for eating al fresco, sitting watching the waves roll in or just relaxing in the hammocks to catch a few zzzz's! Adventure opportunities are readily available as well. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, and families (with kids). Our home has been designed to allow the sea breezes to pass through with windows and doors that are screened to keep the bugs out. The cathedral ceiling in the living area gives an open feeling when you have to be inside and the natural hardwood floors add a local flavour to the decor. Both bedrooms have ceiling fans and air-conditioning units which allow you a choice of sleeping comfort. Our guests have access to the entire upper floor of the house which includes living space for sitting, dining for 6 and cooking, 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. There are numerous palm trees on the property allowing for open or shaded sunbathing. The 300 square foot deck leaves plenty of room for dining outside or just leisure activity whether sitting in the lounge chairs or swinging in a hammock (which we highly recommend!). Due to the sand and living space on the upper floor, we are not wheelchair accessible. Our home is managed by our Property Manager, Cheryl Rowland-Nunez and her partner Luckie Nunez. They are a licensed tour guide operator as well. Our guests can rely on Cheryl to assist making arrangements to a wide assortment of activities within the Hopkins area. Snorkelling, fishing, zip lining, cave tubing, ruins and more are all possibilities when you come to Hopkins. The lower unit of the house is a private apartment kept for the owners when they visit. There are security cameras on the property including one inside the rental unit. You will be instructed on arrival how to disable the inside camera to ensure total privacy. The are numerous amenities within a few minutes walking distance from the house. The local convenience store which can supply most of what you want or need is just around the corner. Fresh fruit and vegetable stands are an easy walk as are many of the local restaurants. You do need to remember that you are in the heart of the village. While the beach front is fairly quiet, you can expect to occasionally hear local drumming, roosters crowing and children laughing. It's part of the village life experience. Our neighbours are very quiet and will always have a friendly hello. It is not necessary to have a car in Hopkins. Most things are within walking distance. However, you can rent bikes locally or talk to Cheryl about renting a car or golf cart which will get you pretty much anywhere you want to go within the village or neighbouring areas. Motorcycles are also available at a nearby rental facility. For those electing to rent a car, parking is available by the house.
