Peace & tranquility await you in this luxury Spanish villa overlooking the Pacific Ocean & jungle canopy below. Gorgeous 4 bed/3 bath completely renovated custom home using local hardwoods & stone. Mountain breezes & the epic views will take your breath away! Located in the heart of one of the seven Blue Zones of the world, your stress & cares will melt away the moment you arrive. There are views from every level & plenty of spaces to relax & rejuvenate. Only minutes to stunning Carillo Beach! You have found the perfect place to unwind, restore your connection to nature, and breathe in the beauty of life. Sandra, one of our caretakers, will provide weekly cleaning and ensure linens and towels are fresh and clean. We also have an á la carte menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner that can be scheduled with a private chef. Take advantage of our in-house services for massage, yoga and private chef. Our full service staff will take good care of you and ensure you have the vacation you've been dreaming of. An easy 2 hour drive from Liberia airport (LIR) or 4 hours from San Jose airport (SJO) you’ll find Casa Piña - a unique 4 bedroom house with 3 full baths nestled into the mountains above Carillo Beach. The lovely pool, is surrounded by comfortable outdoor furniture and overlooks the jungle canopy, ocean, fruit orchard and gardens. The home has 4 levels with many large windows to allow the refreshing breezes to blow through off the ocean and frame the breathtaking views. The main suite is on the top level with a private balcony and has one of the best views you've ever seen. There is comfortable seating for your morning coffee and enough space for a sunrise yoga or workout. We have weights and yoga mats available for our guests. The next level down are the 2nd and 3rd Jack and Jill bedrooms that share the 2nd full bathroom. One room has a king size bed and stunning views and the other has twin bunks with books, games and activities for the kids. On the main level is the indoor living area, fully stocked kitchen with stone countertops, custom hand-carved cabinetry, pantry, and indoor eating bar. Off of the living room is the outdoor living area with a BBQ, kitchenette, fridge and dining for 8. In Costa Rica, this space is called the "rancho" and is where we spend much of our time relaxing after dinner and watching the monkeys play in the trees or parrots flying over the canopy below. Below the main rancho is a separate guest suite (4th bedroom/bath). You will feel as though you are perched in a tree house in this spacious room with two floor to ceiling walls of glass doors that completely open up to the outside and the epic ocean, mountain and jungle views. Just close the screens to fully immerse yourself in nature and the sounds of the jungle for the full Costa Rican experience! Off of this suite, you can enjoy a hot cup of Costa Rican coffee on the third terrace with a private coffee bar. The interior has been curated with natural textures, Costa Rican hardwoods and subtle colors. High quality mattresses, all natural bamboo linens and ceiling fans ensure a restful night. Plenty of closet space means you can stay organized while you rest. Luxurious bathrooms stocked with luxuriously soft waffle towels and beautiful Turkish towels are provided for pool use. Beach towels and supplies are also provided for a stress-free vacation! The entire home, including outdoor spaces have high-speed fiber optic internet to enable you to work from home as needed. The garden is full of fruit trees, medicinal plants and a variety of herbs, all of which are for your use when in season. We have replanted many native trees and plants that are feeding grounds for butterflies, Mariola honeybees, two varieties of monkeys and a multitude of birds. There’s A/C throughout the house, although there’s usually enough of a breeze that it’s not necessary except in the hottest of months. The water is delicious and safe to drink right out of the tap. The kitchen also has a reverse osmosis filter. We have beach towels, beach chairs, shade umbrellas, hammocks, boogie boards and a cooler for your use at the beaches. We want to do everything to make your vacation stress-free and tailored to your needs and desires. We have tried to think of everything but should you need anything additional, please don't hesitate to let us know and we will be delighted to help you! Casa Piña is offered as a full villa rental only. Your group will be the only guests at this stunning property. Our staff will come weekly to clean and care for the pool and grounds. In-house meals can be scheduled with a private chef. I will not be on site, but will be fully available and very responsive should you have any questions or need anything before or during your stay. Our wonderful caretaker, Sandra, will be on site daily and is a wonderful resource as well! Puerto Carillo/Samara, Guanacaste Province, Costa Rica Casa Piña is located in one of the most sought after areas, "Celajes" near Boca Del Toro. We are situated on a mountain ridge at roughly 1000 ft elevation which offers us a cool breeze and very few mosquitoes. The property is overlooking the lush jungle canopy and has some of the most breathtaking views of the ocean and coast line. However, we are just 5-10 min down the mountain to one of the most stunning beaches in Costa Rica- Play Carillo and another 5-7 min to Playa Samara. It is a beautiful drive down the mountain with panoramic views of at least 5 of the stunning Pacific beaches. Our property is gated and very secure. We are in a wonderful, quiet and extremely safe area. Carillo beach is a little slice of heaven. It is in a protected bay and the waves are just perfect for boogie boarding or body surfing. There are amazing tide pools to explore at both ends during low tide, great snorkeling in the dry season and the bay is calm enough for kayaking or paddle boarding. The palm tree-lined beachfront is the perfect place to hang hammocks and spend the day with a picnic lunch. Unlike Samara beach there are no businesses, hotels or buildings which to us is what makes this beach such a gem! The small town of Carillo is just a couple min from the south end of the beach and has some lovely dining options. We love the Argentinian steak house- El Colibri. There is also a little grocery store here to get any essentials and basic produce. Sámara beach is a great place to learn to surf or just relax on the beach. There’s a number of great beach restaurants so you can dine with your toes in the sand (& grab a drink, ice cream or snack if you don’t want to pack a picnic). The water is shallow and the bay is protected by a reef. While the waves are fun to play in, they are not overwhelming, so it is a great beach for kids! There are several surf schools right on the beach where you can book a lesson or rent surf boards. To us, it’s absolutely perfect. The area has a plethora of activities for kids and adults. Our favorites are horseback riding on Playa Islet, zip-lining, surf lessons, paddle boarding, fishing, snorkeling, Macaw reserve, visit the Butterfly Farm, watching Sea Turtles lay their eggs or hatchlings making their way out to sea, hiking in the shady jungle or visit a waterfall. There are several tour companies in Samara who can arrange all kinds of tours for every type of adventure and level of activities including chocolate and coffee farm tours, volcanos, swinging bridges, ziplining, whale/dolphin watching, natural hot springs, sloth and bird watching just to name a few! Don't forget the fun, bustling local Farmer's Market on Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings. You can stock up on fresh organic produce, sample traditional eats and supporting our local artisans while listening to live music. There is truly so much to experience here but we think you'll love just getting refreshed and restored at lovely Casa Piña! Come experience the "Pura Vida" for yourself...you may never want to leave. To reach Carillo and Samara Beaches from Casa Piña, you will drive 5-10 minutes down a gravel road. Once you hit the main paved road, you will be at Playa Carillo. It’s just another 5-7 minute drive until you reach Samara town and beach. We recommend a 4x4, although if you’re experienced and comfortable on steep dirt roads, it’s certainly possible in a manual low gear. We have parking for 2 vehicles inside the gate in our driveway, as well as space for 2 ATVs, and for another vehicle at the street level. You will need a car at this property, preferably a 4x4. It’s an easy drive though! In the dry season, we highly recommend renting quads or side by sides in Samara as it is such a fun way to get around and see hidden spots off the beaten path that we are happy to share with you! Please see our guest guide book for recommended places to rent ATVs. Beautiful Turkish towels are provided for the pool. Ultra soft waffle towels for showering, and large beach towels for the beach. The current rate is for 4 guests. Each additional guest over 4 will be an additional $50/night. The maximum number of guests is 8. No pets or smoking allowed. Please note that this is a Costa Rica- a tropical jungle. There are bugs, giant moths, gorgeous butterflies, singing (loud) cicadas in the dry season, howler monkeys that will wake you up at sunrise and more variety of flora and fauna than most countries on earth. While most guests come to Costa Rica for this experience, we want to be clear so that you have realistic expectations. The bugs don't typically come indoors unless you leave the lights on after dark and the doors/screens open. Please also note that due to the danger of the stairs and heights of balconies/decks, this home is not suitable for small children under the age of 6 or guests who may have difficulty going up and down stairs.
