A perfect home base for adventures, this upstairs studio unit has large windows on each end & a large skylight, making it bright & cheerful. Situated on 2.15 wooded acres at the end of a dirt road, you are close to everything, but feel like you're away from it all! Only a 4 min drive to gorgeous Pebble Beach & Pt. St George. 15 mins from Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park. Hear the seals & surf, but without wind! This compact 315 sq ft studio can sleep four and have you ready for your outdoor adventures. With an Oregon Mattress Company all natural bed and a 3" memory foam mattress on the fold out sofa, you'll sleep well. All cotton linens and a variety of pillows ensure your comfort. This unit is cozy, but has a private bathroom with a small stand up shower, a storage shelving unit, towel warmer and on demand hot water heater so you can enjoy an extra long shower! The efficient kitchenette (no range) includes a fridge, microwave, toaster oven, single burner hot plate, electric kettle, blender, and electric grill. Guests also have access to an outdoor propane grill in the shared garage space. There is plenty of storage for your gear including a closet space with hangers. Unwind at the end of the day with the large TV with satellite. Feel free to wander over our 2.15 acres, but be aware that all outdoor spaces are shared with the downstairs unit A and with the main house (owners' home). There is a swing under the large tree on the guest house side of the property. There is a fire pit, outdoor tables and chairs and propane grill for guest use. A small herb garden is available for guest use inside the Unit A fenced area. A large part of the property is heavily wooded and there are many game trails so be aware that you may come across some wildlife. We know there are bears, since one tried to drag our smoker away! There is a small seasonal pond behind the main house. In the Fall and Winter search for mushrooms- we have over 20 varieties growing on the property. Please note that there are several gates on the property. Guests are welcome to open any gate, but please close it immediately behind you. The main house is our primary residence so we ask that you respect our privacy as we will yours. However, if you have an emergency need or a question, a knock on the door is appropriate. Parking spaces for one car per unit are designated, but there is plenty of room to park additional vehicles at the end of the street. Unit B, the upstairs unit, is accessed through the gate to the left of the driveway and garage. Follow the path between buildings to the landing and door on your right. This vintage door opens to the stairwell to take you up to your studio. The door to your right goes into the shared garage. Each unit has a lockable door into the garage space. Please keep your door locked for maximum privacy and security. The garage door may be opened to remove and use the shared grill and other outdoor equipment such as the horseshoes, corn hole, or croquet sets, beach equipment or grill. The garage also houses the shared laundry space. We like meeting new people and we'd enjoy hearing what you think of our place if we run into each other on the property, but we won't approach you. We like our privacy and we'll respect yours. We work full time so we may not be on the premises, but we'll respond quickly to inquiries. This neighborhood is nice because it's close enough to the center of town to be convenient to stores and restaurants, but it feels remote. It's an easy 10 min bike ride or 20-25 min walk to the amazingly beautiful Pebble Beach and Point St. George. The beautiful trees, shrubs and flowers make it a great place to meditate, observe and generally be at peace. To get here, a car is the best option. We are down two dirt roads. The road is regularly graded during summer months, but during the rainy winter it can get very potholed so we urge alertness and slower speeds. Driving is the most common means of transportation. However, we are only 4 minutes from the airport terminal and rental cars are available there. Once you are here, walking and bike riding are good options for sightseeing at the beach. A car is the best way to access the Redwood State and National Parks. Our property uses a propane fired tankless water heater. Once it's warm, it'll stay warm. However, it takes about a minute and a half to get hot. Don't worry about running the water, we are on a well in the wettest part of CA. We won't run out. It stays cool here year round and if you need a little heat boost, there is an electric wall heater to the right of the large dresser in the living room area. Please conserve electricity by turning off lights and appliances as you finish with them. There is only one sink in the unit- in the kitchenette. The compact bathroom has a stand-up shower, towel warmer, and toilet.
