On the West side of Downtown Des Moines, two seconds from I-235, Ingersoll Avenue and Des Moines University; 5 minutes to Downtown, East Village, Water Works Amphitheater, Brenton Plaza, Simon Estes Amphitheater and Drake University; 10 minutes to Airport, State Fairgrounds, and the suburbs. The PAC House is your home base for exploring the area. When it is time for rest make yourself at home. Lots of natural light, cozy corners, comfortable private spaces and a cozy, well equipped, kitchen. Our house, the PAC (Parker, Anderson, Calder) home has stood for 106 years and maintains a few original features…sunroom, car port, original pulley windows, lots of oak trim and floors and the maids stairs and bedroom…now my walk-in closet:). We have a nice wood deck off the back of the house and a new brick patio/outdoor grill behind the garage that opens up to a large community green space. Perfect for sunning, frisbee, kickball, soccer, volleyball, dogs and general relaxing. Patio furniture can seat up to 14 people at three tables. Zero-gravity chairs available for lounging in the sun or shade. Adirondock chairs out front for watching the dogs on parade. The kitchen is equipped for almost everything you might need. Some items are stored in the garage and we are happy to grab them should you go gourmet or want to make cookies from scratch...I bet I have all the baking ingredients and tools you might need. Please help yourself, and me, by helping yourself to any food items in the fridge, cupboards and counter. The Maid's bedroom, next to the full bathroom, is where I store my personal items and clothing. It is locked. Which allows me to offer you empty closets (all are walk-ins) and dressers for your stay. Please settle in and make your yourself at home. Laundry facilities are located in the basement, which is original and not finished. Soap, fabric softener, drying rack, etc are available for your use. The entrance is near the half bathroom which is also the side entrance/carport door. The three steps to the entrance are narrow and motion lighted...PLEASE WATCH YOUR STEP!. The garage will be full of my personal items as I transition to traveling most of the year. We can park up to five cars in the driveway with a game of leap frog. Street parking allows for maybe three cars in front of the house. Please do keep in mind the neighbors, which are right on the other side of the bushes or fence. You will see and hear them as well. You will have access to private and/or semi-private sleeping arrangements, the full shared bathroom and half bathroom, kitchen, dining and living rooms, sunroom/office space and all outside spaces. My Co-hosts, Drea & Bobbi Rocha are sisters and dear friends of our family, Adrian Demuth helps us out as well, lifetime friend of my daughter.. I will be your main point of communication however they may step in for your immediate needs, they live very close. We are happy to accommodate all of your check-in and out needs. Our neighborhood, Ingersoll Park, is located near 42nd Street and Ingersoll Avenue, pretty much in the middle of the entire metro area. And the freeway/I-235 is 2 blocks North. We are blessed with lots of large trees, lovely homes and great people. Which is good since the neighbor's houses are pretty close together on our part of the circle block. Paved trails for biking, walking, general meandering along the river are within four blocks. Right past the Art Center and down by the public swimming pool and Greenwood Park. Ingersoll Avenue has numerous restaurants, shops and bars within a quick walk. The Shops at Roosevelt, three blocks north offer The Cheese Shop, La Mie and the Playhouse. Two miles west is the Valley Junction District offering even more shops, restaurants, art galleries and bars. Groceries, gas, liquor store and a pharmacy are on 35th & We have plenty of street parking, driveway if it is snowing. I mentioned the freeway, the bus route is two blocks the other way. Our neighborhood has bikes lanes down Ingersoll, to downtown, and down 44th street to a large park with trails that connect throughout the metro. The airport is 10 minutes south. You do have to call for a cab…local companies and ride sharing are available. You may have a roommate in the other two bedrooms in the house. I have four listings...entire house and the three bedrooms. I will let you know. Also a Co-host will stop by daily to check the mail. Every few days one of them, and/or service providers will be by to maintain a few things around the house...gardens, lawn, leaves, snow. I will reach out to coordinate various tasks...it takes a village to maintain a home.
