Beautiful views of Roque Island across the Bay. 6 miles to authentic working lobster villages - Jonesport & Beals Is. Setting is rural, private, peaceful. It is an ideal location if you are looking to get away from the crowds and traffic jams of so many summer tourist locations. It is like stepping back in time to a slower, unhurried pace. Stunning sunrises, amazing night sky w/o light pollution. Bald eagles, shorebirds, seals. Walk out on Great Bar at low tide, harvest your own fresh mussels. Cottage is clean and well cared for. It is cozy, comfortable, and light with an open floor plan. We hope you will treat it with care if you stay with us. It is a special place. It was our vacation retreat until we built a retirement home nearby and moved here full time in 2007. Twin beds can be made up as king upon request. Whole house We live nearby and are usually available to greet guests on arrival. We respect your privacy at all times but are available to help or/and answer questions if needed. Definitely need a car. This is a rural area. No public transportation. If you chose to go to Acadia there is a ferry from Winter Harbor. It is a beautiful ride and eliminates the traffic congestion/parking in Bar Harbor and Acadia. There is a free bus service - the Island Explorer that runs throughout the Park.
