We'll be delighted to welcome you to our converted barn. Most describe it as "charming." We are grateful for those comments, and we have tried to provide our guests with a safe, restful, and inviting environment. There are two bedrooms upstairs, and a TV room with 2 twin beds/daybeds downstairs. The galley kitchen has brand new appliances. The beds are outfitted with the most healthful, hygienic mattress pads and bedding we could find. The water is certified free of lead, nitrates, or bacteria. We are close to popular attractions in the state-line area. Sportscore 1 is almost within walking distance. The Speedway is near. The vibrant downtown is about a 10 minute drive. Even if you chose to relax in the barn and catch up on your reading, we hope you will enjoy your stay and come back to us again. The fact of the matter is that we live next door in the 180 year old limestone. Please don't let that worry you. We will respect your privacy. However, if you have any questions or need us, we are a text, call, or steps away. This is a quiet, residential, somewhat rural area. People wave at each other, but they are not aggressive about interrupting each other. Some have "No trespassing" signs posted, and we hope that is respected. We also want you to know that to the immediate east are train tracks. The trains pass by a few times a week, but not at night. An automobile is the most frequently used mode of transportation in Rockford. There are city buses, but they do not come out this far. There is lovely walking path about a half mile from the barn, but one has to cross a four lane street to get there. We usually drive to the park and ride our bikes or walk from there. The "third bedroom" is downstairs. The couch and chair are both pull-out sleepers. The mattresses don't fold up well when the bedding is on, so the beds are unmade.
