La Santa Maria is one of the apartments available in the collective casa particular called La Goleta. It is an air conditioned open concept loft which includes a fully equipped kitchen, king size bed, TV, bathroom with bathtub, dining room, front porch and back terrace. Access to the roof available from back terrace. La Santa Maria is our penthouse suite. It encompasses the entire second floor of the house. The entrance is through the back door. It is an open concept loft. There is a fully equipped kitchen, dinning area, bathroom and bed. All areas are air conditioned. Access to the bathroom is from the bedroom area. Guests have access to an outdoor terrace, front porch or can go up to the roof to enjoy the view of our beloved town. Guests must enter the gated property and go around the main house to the back stairs. There is always someone available to help you with anything you may need. The owners names are Loly and Carlos. You may request meals, snacks, drinks, transportation, phone service (some conditions apply), however these services are not included in the rental price. If you want to get a taste of the "real" Cuba instead of what hotel and travels agencies choose to show you, this town is definitely a must see. It is a small town just outside of Varadero. The beach is at a 5 minute walk, and you get a view of the bay from the house. There are little kiosques, markets, food vendors, restaurants, and parks all within walking distance. If you'd like to get out of the town for a bit, we are only 10 minutes away from downtown Varadero where there are local artisans, shopping malls, restaurants, bars, nightclubs and live music and entertainment. We are also at a 1h30 drive from Havana, if you'd like to visit the historic city. To get to our place is simple too, since we are a quick 20 minute drive from the Juan Gualberto Gomez Varadero airport. Ask Loly and Carlos about the must-see locations in our area. If you would like to see as much of Cuba as you can during your stay, we recommend renting a car, which can be done either before you leave via internet (recommended), or once arrived at a car rental service company. If driving in a foreign country isn't your thing, the house a bloc away from the bus stop which can take you either to Varadero or to Santa Marta (Varadero's neighbouring town), or in the other direction to Matanzas (and the airport). If you prefer something more personalized, taxis are readily available and Loly and Carlos can find you a trusted driver. We also have a few bicycles for rent at an extra fee. All extra services will be charged in CUC. If you are a small family, we can accommodate you, but keep in mind, this is a single room unit.
