Villa Turquesa is the perfect homebase for you to explore all Puerto Rico has to offer. We are minutes away from Seven Seas beach, family-friendly activities, nightlife, the bio bay, ferry to Vieques and Culebra, water taxi to Icacos, 2 first class yacht marinas, Luquillo Beach & Kiosks, 30 min from El Yunque Rainforest, & 1 hr from San Juan. You’ll love our comfy beds with luxurious linens, the sea breeze, central location, and the spectacular roof top deck views. Villa Turquesa is a private home that is divided up into two units. This listing is for the 2nd floor unit (Unit B) only. It can sleep up to 6 adults comfortably, or 4 adults and 4 kids comfortably, but if your party consists of 8 adults we recommend checking out our other listing and renting out the entire villa for maximum comfort. Regardless, we only rent to one group at a time, so the house is private to you even if you are only renting the upstairs unit. The second floor unit features 3 bedrooms (1 King, 1 Queen, and 2 queen beds), 2 bathrooms, full kitchen, and a living room with a TV, DVD player, with an extensive DVD library, and a Chromecast. All of the mattresses are Serta IComfort or Serta Perfect Sleeper and very comfortable. We use only high quality sheets and Hungarian Down pillows with hypoallergenic alternative options available. The roof top deck offers spectacular views of the mangrove forest and ocean, as well as El Yunque. and is a great spot to either work on your tan or enjoy sunsets/sunrises. On clear days you can see St Thomas USVI. If you happen to be visiting during the 4th of July or New Years Eve, you will have an amazing view of several firework displays. The back yard has fruit trees and a deck with seating - a perfect spot for grilling or eating breakfast. A Charcoal Weber Grill is provided. The space is fully fenced in. The front is secured with gates so parents can feel secure that their kids won't wander into the street. The front of the villa is donned with a sweet aquatic mural painted by famous native PR artist, Danny Torres who resides in Philadelphia. The house sits on a dead end street on the most northeast road on the island with limited access for road traffic. The neighbors know who comes and who goes. You can feel safe and secure at Villa Turquesa. This interior barrio area of Fajardo was given to the residents 45 years ago. It is currently changing ownership one house at a time and going through gentrification slowly. Some of the residents are very poor and there are some abandoned houses. However, our neighbors are wonderful people and walking around Los Croabas is as safe as any other place in Puerto Rico. It's a vacation destination for Puerto Rican residents. A full laundry room with washer and dryer as well as a clothesline is on premises and ready for your use! We provide all towels plus extra including beach towels. We are scuba divers so we have rinse tubs and places to dry your gear in full sun and in shade. A nice sized enclosed garage with security lock can accommodate a large truck or mini van. Plus lots of room to store suitcases you may need to store to give you more room inside. Extra parking is limited,but there is room for 2 extra small cars to park in front of the villa by pulling up onto the sidewalk. The furniture at Villa Turquesa is a combination of new Basset and LazyBoy pieces to repurposed antiques over 100 years old and stylish pieces for flair. There are plenty of lamps for light at night and ceiling fans in every room. Air Conditioning is available in every room. We have Split Unit AC with individual temperature control for all. It's not needed during the day through the dry season (Dec-May) but at night and during the humid rainy season you may want to have it run. The bathrooms each have shampoo, conditioner and soap but feel free to bring your own. Both kitchen sinks are equipped with dish soap and dishwasher tabs. Towels are high quality, soft cotton towels that are dried in the dryer and never hung on a clothesline which makes them hard and crunchy. Kitchens are well equipped for cooking and serving full meals. The stoves and ovens are powered with propane gas located outside and brought in by gas line similar to your natural gas at home. Nothing to turn on or off. Any professional chef would feel at home in both kitchens. BABIES: A PAC N Play with Mattress with cotton sheets is provided for sleeping but this cannot be taken to the beach. We have a foldable chair similar to a high chair available for eating. And bath times can be safe and fun with toys and support items. Tiny babies can be bathed in the sink. Downstairs has a single bowl sink while upstairs has a double bowl sink. Guests will have full access to the second floor of the house, roof top deck, backyard with deck and BBQ, garage, and laundry room; everything but the first floor unit. Guests have access to a lock box with keys if they arrive late at night. The code is sent to the guest one day prior to arrival due to the frequency of code changes. Once you've booked your reservation, you will be contacted by Victoria Torres, our on Island host. She will communicate to you regarding concerns, additional rules, procedures and refunds. She is also a licensed tour director and can assist you with booking any tours you desire to have. Should you encounter ANY PROBLEM, especially one that would cause a negative opinion of your stay, please contact the owners immediately so they may be made aware of the issue and the situation can be rectified ASAP. We strive to make our guests happy. Villa Turquesa is in a wonderful little neighborhood with fantastic, loving neighbors. We are just a short walk to one of the best breakfast spots in Puerto Rico, the Marina, Bio Bay Tours, bars and restaurants. The neighbors are wonderful people and they are very kind to all of our guests. We expect all of our guests to treat them with kindness as well. We highly encourage you to rent a car for the duration of your stay. While many activities are within walking distance from the house, it is the easiest way to get around the island and various attractions. We have a gated garage for you to park your rental car in. Puerto Rico is a tropical island teaming with wildlife - including but not limited to - cats, chickens, roosters, iguanas, dogs, geckos, ants, roaches etc. We cannot do anything about their presence. You may find a stray chicken or cat in the yard from time to time but they will scurry away once they notice you. The sounds of the roosters are music to every Puerto Rican's ears. Let's just say that rising early will be the norm while you're in Puerto Rico as the sun comes up early and the Roosters are there to alert you of it! Keep food closed and secure in the refrigerator. Sugar ants will be pests if you don’t. UTILITIES ARE ON AND OFF ALL THE TIME The water may go out. We keep bottled water in each unit for emergencies. If the water goes out, you are not responsible for cleaning the dishes, but taking out the trash is still required. The electricity may go out. This won’t keep you from cooking but the power does control the water plant so if the power is off for more than a couple of hours, fill the tub so you have water to bath in. We have propane stoves so you can heat water on the stove. You may want to also fill your car with gas so you are full to return to the airport. Prolonged power outages cause several gas stations to shut down. Quiet hours at S-Th 10pm to 6am, Friday-Saturday 12am-7am. Our neighbors are Seventh Day Adventists and Saturday is their church day.
