Welcome to the Mountainside Getaway! We want to be your relaxing home away from home after a day of skiing on White Pass, fishing the Cowlitz River, or hiking the beautiful trails of Mt. Rainier and the surrounding area of Packwood. While staying you will enjoy a complimentary bottle of wine, WiFi, breath taking views of Mt. Rainier on clear days, possible elk sightings, snuggle up around a fire, enjoy movies/Netflix, games, puzzles, books, and all the amenities of your home. Our cabin is well stocked with all the amenities you would need: Wifi, a well stocked kitchen (pots & pans, griddle, crock pot, coffee maker, coffee bean grinder, blender, coffee press, toaster, microwave), hair dryer in each bathroom, washer and dryer, mud/laundry room to store your outdoor gear, a restaurant style high chair, booster seat, pack-n-play, gas BBQ, several board games for all ages, outdoor yard games for the summer months, Netflix, and a wide variety of DVDs to choose from. After a long day of hiking, fishing, sight seeing, or skiing enjoy a camp fire outside while you gaze up at the stars with family and friends. Behind the cabin on clear days you can catch a glimpse of Mt. Rainier thanks to a clear cut area behind the cabin. This clear cut also makes it possible to see the local elk often grazing about in the mornings and evenings. The cabin features seasonal decor to make your trip feel even more like home. During the summer months you will be able to access the High Valley Country Club and use the pool and golf course for a fee as guests. The cabin is located a short 7 minute drive to Hwy 12 and the heart of Packwood. **Pricing is based on 4 guests, with $20 charged for each additional guest up to 8 people. **We are a NO pet cabin **If you are looking for a weekend away to party and go crazy with friends this is not the cabin to book. We have other cabins close by as well as the house cleaner is close by and monitors the cabin closely. **If checking out on a holiday additional cleaning charges my be accrued. The cabin is located a short 7 minute drive from Hwy 12 and the heart of Packwood. Once in our neighborhood you will be able to easily access the cabin based on directions provided. There is parking available for 6 cars and ask that guests only park in the gravel parking area and not anywhere else around the cabin. More than likely you will not see us as we rent out the entire cabin to you. However, we do have another cabin near by so if you are in need of something we may be available to help if we are in the area. Otherwise, we have a property manager and house cleaner that is also available to help out as needed. The cabin is located in a small loop within the High Valley Community in Packwood, Wa. There are a variety of houses and cabins located around our cabin. The cabin faces a quiet street with the fire pit and trees surrounding you. Out the back of the cabin on clear days you will be greeted with a sneak peak of Mt. Rainier and an unobstructed view of Butter peak. There is a clear cut area behind the cabin that has recently been replanted with small trees and often provides elk sightings. The cabin is located about an 8 minute drive into Packwood and Hwy 12. The oven that is in the cabin is small and we provide baking sheets and pans that fit. You will not be able to fit a full size cookie sheet into this oven. Please reach out with any more questions about its size. The weather can sometimes be unpredictable, especially in the winter. It is recommended that you monitor the weather and prepare as necessary for your drive to the cabin and any destinations you are visiting while staying in Packwood. We do try to monitor the weather closely and have the driveway plowed if there is a large amount of snow on the ground to make sure you are able to access the driveway with minimal issues. We encourage guests to bring slippers or warm socks to wear around the house as we ask guests to remove shoes and the floors can be cool during the winter months. Also we do provide our guests with a small amount of firewood to start a fire in the outside firepit. Additional wood can be purchased at the grocery in town.
