Easy access to the laundry room PLUS use of the pool, patio and outdoor kitchen. We are located 2 blocks from the west end of the Ajijic malecon on Lake Chapala. It is a 10-15 minute walk to the plaza, but the public bus passes our home about every 10 minutes. Our wonderful next door neighbor, Sam, runs a taxi service. There are several small grocery stores within a block. The room, itself, is accessed by a completely private entrance inside the property. There is no need for any interaction with the main house. Just outside your door there is a niche with a refrigerator, microwave, dishes and utensils. These are strictly for your own use. Close by is the laundry room that can be accessed from the alley. The alley also leads to the back of the property where you can use the swimming pool, outdoor kitchen and patio furnishings. In the room, there is a coffee maker, comfortable seating area, lots of books to peruse and an ensuite bath with shower. There is also a cable TV and private phone for local calls as well as wi-fi internet. The laundry room, lower patio with outdoor kitchen and the pool area are open for your use. Please check with us about using the laundry. 1-2 loads of personal items per week are acceptable but please be efficient. Small loads add to our costs unnecessarily. If you are here for more than a week, you can also do 1-2 loads of bed/bath linens. Utilities are expensive here. Please do not abuse the laundry room privileges. We may or may not be around when you are visiting. However, we provide information to you about contacting our property manager as well as other information you might need. If you have any problems, PLEASE speak to us. We have had 5-star ratings 90% of the time on our rentals. We want you to be comfortable. Ours is a very Mexican neighborhood, and we love it. There are a few little shops, but mostly it is quiet except when there are festivals. On those occasions, our street comes quite alive. There are also, occasionally, neighborhood dogs that will bark. If you cannot tolerate that, Mexican village homes might be a problem for you. The bus stops at the corner, just steps away, every 10 minutes or so during the day. We also rent our casita which is at the very back of the property beyond the pool. It is possible that you might be sharing our public area with other guests, but your room is very separate from the rest of the property. When using the pool area, please use the furniture close to the stairs. The other furniture is for the use of guests in the casita. You are not to use that area. Also, no music playing by the pool for the comfort of all. And no outside guests. You can check with me a few days before you arrive if it is okay to invite a couple of friends over. There may be an extra charge. We are in a Mexican village. There are roosters and occasional dogs barking. Things break down in Mexico. We will do our best to fix any problems as quickly as possible. But please come to Mexico with an adaptable attitude. Those of us who have chosen to live here know that life is better when we accept these factors in Mexican living.
