L'idée d'un Bed and Breakfast sur Tuxan kin Che (prononcé Too-shan-kin she, traduction: "Lieu des arbres") nous a paru parfait pour les voyageurs qui viennent à Campeche, attirés par la recherche de culture et d'écologie. À la fin des années '80, nous sommes devenus les gardiens de Tuxan, un verger fruitier de 4 hectares aux alentours de la ville de Campeche, État de Campeche, au Mexique. Depuis 1982, la ville s'est transformée d'un joyau perdu en un trésor redécouvert. En 2000, l'UNESCO l'a déclaré Patrimoine de l'Humanité. Tuxan (prononcé Too-shan), a également évolué, d'un verger fruitier simple à une inspiration créative vivante, une maison d'artiste avec une bibliothèque en croissance et une palette verte. C'est le reflet d'une vie exposée au Monde Maya et de mon amour de la nature, des gens et des arts. Le bâtiment a commencé en 1990. La pierre, le bois et le chaume se combinent avec le ciment, l'électricité et les systèmes de plomberie pour créer le Tuxan d’aujourd’hui est peuplé de milliers d'arbres, dont plus d'une douzaine de variétés fruitiers tels que: Sapote, Noix de Cajou, Mandarine, Orange, Citron vert, Avocat, Mangue, Banane, Noix de Coco, Amande, Nance, Cannelle, Guanabana, Guayaba et Mamey! Les feuillus comprennent l'Acajou, le Ciricote et le Cèdre. Nos jardins offrent un choix de fleurs, pelouses et feuillages. Chaque soir et dans la nuit un chœur de grillons et de grenouilles se pourrait chanter à la danse d'un zillion de lucioles. By booking a Cottage / Casita you will have access to a full bathroom with hot water shower, the common verandah dining area, a small "dipping pool", the gardens and the orchard, and, by arrangement, the kitchen facilities. Food and drink in the kitchen is not included although potable water is provided. Long term guests are welcome to make special arrangements with the on site hosts for food preparation and storage. You are in a semi-rural setting so your own transport would be best. Although there is a (not very reliable) public bus service to Campeche that runs during daylight hours, we would recommend private taxis that are available for hire on appointment. Taxi fare to the City centre or the Market approx,: 60 Pesos ($ USD 3.00) and about 10 minutes door to door. Being in the country, expect country sounds and critters. Take common sense precautions such as shaking out your shoes and clothes before putting them on, wearing shoes when walking about, using insect repellent as is your wont. If you have a pet, its good behaviour is your responsibility. Any behaviour that results in damage to people or property is also your responsibility. Pets are not allowed on the beds nor the linens.
