Edgewater hugs beautiful Lake Michigan on Chicago’s lively and convenient North Side, It is seven miles north of the Loop and has multiple options for public transportation. Our location is walking distance, as well, to Loyola University’s lakeside campus. Edgewater is bounded by Foster Avenue on the south, Devon Avenue on the north, Ravenswood Avenue on the west, and Lake Michigan on the east. Edgewater has several public beaches for our lucky visitors to enjoy. This community offers a full spectrum of memorable restaurants, famous bars, and a lot of history. Great restaurants are within walking distance or a short Lyft or Uber ride. If you’re more adventurous, public transportation works, too! In nearby Andersonville, you might like the the new and hip Octavio Cantina and kitchen, great mexican food and fabulous margaritas. There’s an Irish bar and restaurant called Lady Gregory‘s. Stop by the Swedish American Museum if you’re looking for a little history and culture. A short bus ride will get you to Wrigley Field, home of the fantastic World Series-winning Chicago Cubs. You can also easily partake of Chicago’s very popular jazz and blues venues, like the nearby Green Mill and Kingston Mines. The incomparable Chicago theater scene offers an endless variety of unique entertainment opportunities. The Raven Theatre, less than a block from us, is one highly recommended theater company to check out. If you want to explore a little further, there are additional don’t-miss sites just a little north of us in Evanston and Wilmette, both accessible via the CTA’s Purple train line. In Evanston, it’s always beautiful to walk around Northwestern University‘s campus, or you can grab a bite to eat downtown. Evanston is quite the culinary experience! The stunning Baha’i Temple and its surrounding gardens are in Wilmette at the lakefront. Public transportation is always a great option. The 22 Clark bus is just two blocks away at Clark and Thome. The El train is about 6.5 blocks away at Granville and Broadway. There are also Divvy Bikes at that corner too. It’s always a great option to take an Lyft or Uber too. If you’re driving in the city make sure to download the app spot hero, it will usually save you 50% on parking. There is one off the street parking spot at my house, and you can park your other vehicles on the street in the neighborhood. It’s usually not a problem to find street parking.
