This spacious apartment is in the most desirable neighborhood in Old San Juan. This quiet, upscale neighborhood is one of the safest in Puerto Rico directly across Governor's mansion and Rogativa Statue. Our beautiful, recently renovated home exudes the charm and magic of Old San Juan while providing luxe comfort for guests. Walk by the limbe vendor on the first floor (quintessential Old San Juan!) up to the second floor. You are greeted by Veronica and/or hubby Luiscito. Once you enter the apartment the living room opens to a beautiful balcony overlooking La Rogativa with breathtaking views of the San Juan Bay. Comfortable sofa, TV, dining table and chairs, sideboard and artwork fill the main living space. The kitchen features stainless steel appliances and apron-front sink, custom-built pantry and cabinetry. Pots, dishes and of course, a coffee maker and toaster are supplied. Hallway leads from kitchen past a half-bath to the enormous master bedroom, with a very comfortable queen bed, nightstands, dresser and love seat. Continue from the master bedroom past an office nook / reading area to the full bathroom with custom-tiled shower. The second bedroom is furnished with daybed ( two twin beds) and dresser. The many windows and an interior wall of frosted glass allow the entire apartment to be filled with the light of the Caribbean sun! This spacious ( for Puerto Rico) 1200 foot apartment is in one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Old San Juan. There is no smoking in any areas of the apartment including the balconies. There are no pets allowed due to serious allergies. If this is a service animal I would require documentation in addition to an additional fee for a deep cleaning that will have to be done. There is an additional cost of $300 for any service animals, $300 in addition to be $100 normal cleaning fee, sorry for the inconvenience but I am highly allergic. We are across from the Governor’s Mansion so there are police on guard 24/7! This quiet upscale neighborhood is one of the safest in Puerto Rico. This is a residential area so guests need to be respectful of this so NO parties are allowed nor loud music after 10pm. Walk around the corner and you are facing the Cathedral, El Convento and a few steps take you to Plaza Del Armas, supermarkets and our favorite "the Poets Passage" where you can find unique souvenirs and have a cup of coffee/tea and relax. For the shoppers there is Ralph Lauren, Coach, El Galpon (hats), Burberry and Guess! Fine jewelry can be found at E Barquet or Bared. Puerto Rico has a rich tradition in crafting hand-rolled cigars so try the Cigar House. All this walking distance of your front door! The first thing you notice is the lack of a "lock box". ( unless we are accommodating an unusual arrival time) You are greeted by Veronica and/or Luiscito who are a wealth of information on sights, eateries and activities. There are maps and information about places to see. You will have access to the entire apartment. However there is NO smoking in any part of the apartment even the balconies. There is a no pet policy if this is a service animal I will need documentation in addition to an extra cost ( $300 plus $100 normal fee) for cleaning in addition to the normal cleaning fee. I ask you keep it as clean as you find it, throw out all garbage and wash dishes you use. If you are looking for a safe area and want to experience the beauty of Old San Juan this is the place for you. Should anything arise we are close by to address any issues. The apartment is located in the most beautiful, desirable spot in Old San Juan and the safest spot in Puerto Rico: directly across the street from the Governor's Mansion - La Fortaleza, built in 1533. The historic and lovely Plazuela de la Rogativa statue and plaza sit just out the front door, as does the 20-foot-thick La Muralla (city wall) with the San Juan Gate built in 1635. Walk out the front door onto the Paseo del Morro, a 400-year-old view-filled walking path leading along the edge of the bay up to Castillo San Felipe del Morro. Museo de las Americas, and Casa Blanca are popular places to visit. Two minutes in the other direction sits the Catedral de San Juan Bautista the second oldest church in the Western hemisphere, El Convento, Plaza de Armas, and Paseo de la Princesa, leading to the port district. All of the restaurants, art galleries, museums, cozy nooks and historic spots are within a 15-minute walk. There are far too many places to name - and much more fun to stumble upon! Live like a local in this magical spot. If you will be staying in Old San Juan for your entire stay, you will not need access to a car - every corner of the Old Town is within walking distance. There are buses and a free trolley. If you will visit other parts of the island during your stay and will be renting a car, the apartment is a 5 - 10 minute walk from multiple parking garages, and free on-street parking is available but can be a challenge to find. The beautiful Carolina Beach is a 20 minute car ride and there is a small beach approximately half hour walk from the apartment. Parking lot is available within three blocks and is reasonable. Also parking in the Convento lot around the corner is available. Street parking is also available but at times a challenge. One can easily use the Bus system and Old San Juan has a free trolley service. This is a residential building so there is NO entertaining allowed. Also no additional guests unless previously approved (insurance requirements) again no smoking or any pets allowed. This is a service animal I will need documentation in addition to payments for an extra cleaning see which is listed in the pricing and availability. The additional cost will be $300 in addition to the $100 regular cleaning for the total cleaning fee would be $400, Sorry for the inconvenience however I have severe allergies This will be strictly enforced.
