Located on the East End near beaches, restaurants, shop & the ferry terminal. Perched on the hillside overlooking Pillsbury Sound with views toward St. John across to Jost Van Dyke and down through the British Virgin Islands – you’ll feel on top of the world. You won’t want to miss a single sunrise, and you’ll want to be on deck for every sunset! And especially to catch the spectacular full moon rise over the water. Make yourself at home . . . From the main living area with its high open-beam ceiling, you will be drawn to the panoramic view through the triple glass door archways. Choose from three living spaces – the colorful indoor living room, the large covered furnished open living area (you may never want to leave here) or the long open deck. Ease into the day . . . Sip your morning coffee or tea on the comfy sofa in the outdoor living area. If you’re not quite ready for a day of activity, relax on one of the lounge chairs outside with a book, keep an eye on the boats sailing in the bay, check out which yachts are out cruising and refresh yourself at your leisure with one of the two outdoor showers. Eat, drink & be merry . . . Whether you’re blending an island concoction, doing the prep or just entertaining the chef you will not have to miss the view. The open gourmet kitchen is complete with granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances and a large island/bar perfect for relaxed gathering and entertaining. Unwind . . . Watch the sky change from dusk to dark as the boats return to dock while sipping drinks at the café table on the deck. Dine at the indoor dining table, in the outdoor living area or on deck – it’s up to you. Spend restful nights in bedrooms painted in soothing Caribbean colors, with queen-size beds, arched lattice top doorways and ceiling fans that keep the cool trade wind breezes flowing. Each bedroom has its own full bath with mosaic or painted tiles. Two of the bedrooms open onto their own porches through French doors. Belle Caribe has a large garden area (albeit not manicured) to the left with a rock walkway going through it. Feel free to explore and pick island basil, pumpkin squash, bananas, plantains or other fruit that may be ripe. PLEASE NOTE: Belle Caribe is a 2-storey structure with a completely separate apartment with private driveway and entrance on the lower level. Tenants downstairs do not have access to the villa upstairs that you are renting. Belle Caribe has its own driveway, parking, entrance and as much privacy as you desire. We have never had an issue with our guests, and we are just a phone call away were anything to come up or you have any questions. We are here to help with tips, recommendations and to answer any questions you have! Before you leave for your trip, we will be sure to check in with you in case you have any questions, and we are accessible by phone and email during your stay. Belle Caribe is in a typical quiet St. Thomas residential neighborhood. It is not a cookie cutter development so you will get to see a bit of normal St. Thomas daily life, complete with people waving and stopping to chat along the road. Renting your own car is the best way to enjoy all St. Thomas has to offer. There are so many different beaches and places to go! You can even take your car on the car ferry to explore St. John - just check with your car rental company to make sure transport to St. John is okay; it is with most rental car companies. YOUR ARRIVAL ON ISLAND - IMPORTANT TO US! - Please send your airline flight number, arrival and departure times and your car rental company at least 2 weeks before you travel. We will arrange to have our escort person meet you and lead you to Belle Caribe. If your flight is delayed or cancelled while en route, contact the escort/us so we can notify everyone involved. ARRIVAL AND ESCORT TO BELLE CARIBE - You’ll be met upon arrival at the airport or ferry dock, or at your car rental agency, led (escorted) to Belle Caribe, and when you arrive there you’ll be given the villa keys and a walk-through of the property to help get you settled and comfortable. This “meet-and-escort” service is included in your rental rate. There is no extra charge for these services, although a tip for your escort is at your discretion for excellent service. Please contact us if you need anything (even advice!) during your island vacation. You will need a rental car to make the most of your vacation and to get around St. Thomas. Please be sure that you rent a vehicle large enough for your entire party plus your luggage! Some island rental cars are compact models, and jeeps will hold four passengers but little to no luggage - please plan accordingly. If you've rented a smaller vehicle and need help carrying any excess luggage to your villa, your airport escort person can take your luggage in his or her vehicle for you and your party for an extra fee to be paid directly to your escort. MAID SERVICE – Belle Caribe will be cleaned just before your arrival and after your departure. If you would like service more frequently, we can easily arrange maid service for you as often as you wish for an additional charge. BABIES & TODDLERS – Belle Caribe is situated on a very steep hill, which affords our guests fabulous views, however, there are very high drops from the deck areas. Deck railing is built in compliance with strict code regarding opening width between rails, but small children must be monitored because climbing on or over the railing is dangerous. TIPPING THE VILLA’S STAFF – For really excellent service with a smile, we recommend tipping about $25 for the cleaners. STAIRS & DISABILITIES – If you're person with a disability, please be sure to speak with us about the situation let us know if you are on crutches or in a wheelchair. There is only one step up on the landing to enter the house and only a couple of steps from the living room to the outdoor areas so it is very easy to get around. LOUD, LATE, DISRUPTIVE ACTIVITIES – Belle Caribe is located in a residential neighborhood. We understand you are on vacation, however, your neighbors may not be on vacation Please respect our neighbors by not playing loud music/making loud noise after 10p. Loud music, midnight parties and excessive noise and other such disturbances are prohibited in accordance with Title 19, Chapter 62 of the Virgin Islands Code. SMOKING – There is NO SMOKING or burning of any objects such as incense or candles allowed anywhere in the house or on the decks. There will be a $500 charge for evidence of smoking or burning any objects. If you would like to smoke, you may smoke outside in the driveway area. GENERAL DISCLOSURES – Belle Caribe is located in an un-gated, non-associated, residential neighborhood. All beaches in the US Virgin Islands are for public use. While beach access through private property is prohibited, access by sea is permissible. In a tropical environment, pest control efforts may not totally deter ants, roaches or other insects. Certain foliage in tropical environments can be harmful or cause injury if ingested or touched. There may be many forms of wildlife residing in tropical foliage, such as birds, deer, iguanas and small non-poisonous snakes. Geckos reside on and around the building. They are our friends as they dine on mosquitoes and other insects that may be bothersome. Please respect them. CELL PHONE SERVICE - Please note that there is no land line telephone service at Belle Caribe. There is cell phone coverage with most major services, however please check with your carrier because roaming charges may apply for some carriers. PASSPORTS - Be sure you remember to bring your passport and a photo ID! If you are taking any day trips to the British Virgin Islands or to any other islands outside the US Virgin Islands you will need them. Everyone departing the United States Virgin Islands, including U.S. citizens, is now required by U.S. Immigration to show either a valid passport OR an original or certified copy of a birth certificate accompanied by a Government-issued photo ID. The U.S. Virgin Islands are a “port of entry” to the U.S. mainland, so please don’t forget these for the whole family (even for the baby!). In order to re-enter the United States Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and the U.S. mainland from any of the British Virgin Islands, you will need a passport (or passport card, which is valid for land and sea travel only). If you plan to visit any of the British Virgin Islands during your stay, even if it is just a day visit or boating trip, your passport or passport card will be required.
