Dean Hall Nursery is an architectural award-winning, lovingly-restored Bermuda Cottage that is the ideal holiday retreat. With a spacious open-plan sleeping/living/work area, full kitchen, laundry, walk-in closet and outdoor eating and lounging areas...your own beautiful Bermuda cottage is a welcoming home away from home. WE'VE THOUGHT OF EVERYTHING: The cottage comes complete with fresh linens (including beach towels), toiletries, a well-equipped kitchen, onsite laundry with supplies and all the comforts of home...plus lots of extras! (See Other things to note, below). If self-catering, you can get basic food provisions from the corner grocery on arrival or order online prior to you arrival and we'll stock them for you. There are also three larger groceries nearby. You will no doubt enjoy the gas barbecue and outdoor entertainment areas. The owners and their family live next door and will ensure that you'll have a memorable Bermuda experience. THE NEIGHBOURHOOD: Nestled in a garden setting in picturesque Flatts, the Nursery is close to Bermuda's number one attraction, the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum & Zoo. With nearby restaurants, corner grocery and an adjacent bus stop, plus beaches and two great golf courses about 10 minutes away, you're perfectly positioned for your vacation in paradise. Further, the cottage's central/east location serves as the ideal home base for island-wide adventures. GETTING THERE: Airport transfer arrangements with our wonderful cabbies will be made on your behalf. GETTING AROUND: Here are a variety of choices. While there are no regular-size rental cars in Bermuda, there are two-person electric cars...more details below. PUBLIC TRANSPORT - There is a bus stop at the end of the cottage driveway and tickets or passes can be purchased at Flatts Post Office across the road. 5 minutes down the hill there is access to two more bus lines running at 15 minute intervals. The buses connect with the wonderful ferry service. SCOOTERS - For the adventurous and experienced we recommend Elbow Beach Cycles as your source for scooters. ELECTRIC CARS - We have a dedicated parking space and free onsite charging station for the Renault Twizy 2-person electric cars rented by Current Vehicles in Hamilton. CYCLES - By prior arrangement we have two Trek 21-Speed bicycles for rent at $15 per cycle per day. These are great for exploring the island via the railway trail and other routes. Helmets and locks included. Use is entirely at your own risk and remember that we drive on the left in Bermuda! TAXI - You can also call upon your friendly cabby who picked you up from the airport to take you anywhere and/or provide an organized sightseeing tour of beautiful Bermuda. BY FOOT - The Bermuda Railway Trail is a short walk away and makes for great walking. Please note that Bermuda's main roads do not generally have sidewalks/pavements, so be careful and walk against the direction of the traffic. EXTRA GUESTS: If booking for three or four, the third and fourth persons are accommodated on a queen size pull-out sofa in the same open-plan sleeping/living area for an extra charge of $30 per person, per night. PROXIMITY TO ROAD: The cottage is set back from Middle Road and surrounded by bushes and trees. That being said, you may hear some road noise during day if sitting on the front verandah, yet not bothersome or easily heard inside the cottage or out back. OTHER EXTRAS: Other amenities not listed elsewhere include: fresh flowers, bottle of wine and a couple beers on arrival, a phone for free local calls, two plush bathrobes, curling irons/hair straighteners, laundry supplies, basic kitchen provisions, snorkel equipment, picnic bag/blanket and beach umbrella.
