Your home away from home! Looking for a vacation in a quiet residential neighborhood, and within five minutes walk to amenities - fully stocked supermarket, doctors office, restaurants, pharmacy, and the sea then this is the place for you! The rental is a 500 sq. ft. ground floor studio apartment situated on a ridge at end of a cul de sac; no highway in sight and no passing traffic. Excellent for that quiet get away to rejuvenate yourself and finally get that novel finished. This studio apartment offers complete privacy and is totally self catering with fully equipped kitchen and dining room spaces. There is a living and entertainment room space with a flat screen TV, android box TV box, WIFI etc. Parking is not provided; rental is meant for that single person or couple who does not intend to rent a vehicle. Apartment sleeps a maximum of 2 persons; the lone bed is a double size bed. Ceiling fan in bedroom and living room area; there is a self contained washroom with a shower. Air conditioning is provided for the bedroom area solely for an additional fee (TOUCH BASE FOR PRICING). Apartment has relatively new appliances; washing machine, stove/oven and refrigerator. High speed internet. Ample spaced patio faces a garden area at the rear of the building. The studio truly offers a visitor that feel of a home away from home! Lock box with code to provide access to key to the studio upon arrival at any time. Key provides access to side gates providing access to the rear of the apartment. Guests have access to the entire grounds of the property. Apartment has its own washing machine however no dryer. There is a high capacity clothes horse in the apartment; there is also access to an environmentally friendly solar clothes line dryer at the rear of the apartment. Apartment offers complete privacy with private parking and access. There is an upper level apartment and another one bedroom apartment on property. I live at the upper level however I am a full time employed engineer and am only on property late in the evenings and on weekends. However when I'm on property, I love to chat with guests about Barbados, places to see, thing to do and am generally available to answer any queries or resolve any problems that may pop up in the apartment. There may be guests in the one bedroom apartment - also on the ground floor, which also presents additional opportunities for guest interaction. A lovely cleaning lady will come by weekly to clean apartments, change bed linen etc. You will be well taken care of. Apartment building is at the end of the road on a ridge (at a cul de sac). Result is that the there is no passing traffic or constant stream of traffic resulting in a very quiet neighborhood. To the rear of the property is one acre of steeply sloping undeveloped land, which: is heavily forested/vegetated, adds to the privacy of the property, and is lovely and calming to look at. The property is indeed located in a residential area; I have several friendly neighbours. Neighbors tend to congregate at the beach at Fitts Village early in the mornings and late in the afternoon - the beach can at times be a community meeting ground of sorts. The neighborhood also has several other vacation apartments, so day by day especially during the winter season several overseas guests make up the community. Demand for occupancy is high during the winter season so book soon! Indeed a guest staying at the apartment will experience that home away from home feeling, and what life is like for the average Barbadian on a day by day basis. The close proximity (and convenience) of Jordan's supermarket, a doctor's office, pharmacy, restaurants, and other shopping is one of the things really loved about the neighborhood. The Fitts Village Esplanade/beach park is also a definite plus; the benches/gazebo allow a visit to the beach for a "sand free" picnic or get together. 5 minutes walk to bus stops that head north towards Holetown or South towards Bridgetown. Both of these towns are roughly 7 miles away from the property - roughly a 10 minute bus ride. Once a booking is made, detailed directions to the property will be sent by email. If you wish to see the sites of the island then I suggest that you rent a car on those days; however if you do rent a car, the car would have to be parked on the public road. Most of my past tenants have tended to stick within walking distance of the neighborhood as the sea and all amenities needed to have a fantastic stay are within walking distance. Few things to note: a) The studio has only one bedroom. There is a double size bed in the bedroom. b) Though the studio is on the ground floor, the property is located at the base of a ridge; thus the land of the property has a significant slope. The studio can only be accessed by walking along the northern side entrance and along the rear of the apartment building. c) Unfortunately there is no wheelchair access. d) There is no land line telephone in the studio. e) High speed wireless internet is available and included in rental fee f) Check out is 12:00pm on the day of departure; however tenants are usually afforded the opportunity to stay in the apartment until later in the day of their departure beyond 12:00pm, if no future tenants are expected on the following day g) Air conditioning for bedroom area available for an additional fee.
