Our "Happy Villa", located in Oranjestad, at 10 minutes from the beach and 10 minutes from the tourist center and cruise port, is the ideal accommodation if you want to relax with comfort and privacy. Kamerlingh Villa is not just a business, it is our home. It is divided into three houses, located around our beautiful pool, in which we have rooms and apartments where we host both tourists and residents of the island, many of whom work in the hospital. Our "Team Kamerlingh" is made up of extraordinary people from different parts of the world who gradually become more family than tenants. This environment, as well as the warm and welcoming decor, will make you feel at home! The apartment is located right in front of the pool, on the house's ground floor, in an unbeatable location. It has its own bathroom and kitchen, so your comfort and privacy are assured. The apartment has airconditioning in the bedroom (included in the price) and in the dinning room (extra $5 usd per day). We have a magnificent swimming pool, the centerpiece of the Villa. The surrounding area is commonly used by tourists and locals, who have sun loungers, chairs and sofas for sunbathing, reading, sharing, or just relaxing. There are 2 bathrooms available to everyone in this area of the house. The whole house, including the common areas, has free wifi. Since this is our family home, you will always find someone that will look after or help you, if you have any difficulty. We are a Venezuelan family who love the island, and because of the situation in our country, we decided to settle here our home. My brother (Samuel) and I (Jorge), live in Spain, so it is only occasionally that I have the pleasure to meet my guests. My parents (Dalia and Jose) are the ones who really live on the island and are always attentive that everything is going well in the house, while respecting the space of guests and tenants. Our work team consists of Carolina and Eve, who help us with the cleaning and general maintenance of the Villa, the apartments and the rooms. Our Villa is located on a residential area, at exactly 1.5 kilometers from Oranjestad’s waterfront touristic area. Perhaps we are not that close to the touristic attractions, but our location gifts us with an almost unbelievable peace! Personally, we recommend all our guests to rent a vehicle, because that allows everyone to discover the island at their own personal rhythm! Nonetheless, it is totally possible (and economic) to use the public transport to move across the island, that is, with certain limitations. Sometimes buses got delayed, and the routes don’t cover all the island. If public transport is your option of choice, the following information is important: At 450 meters, a 6-minute walk, just after following the Ponton Roundabout's first exit (located on the Ernesto Pretoria street) it is possible to take the Autobus (small and blue, with the name Arubus on the side) of lines 7 and 7A. These small buses depart from Oranjestad's central station approximately every half an hour and have as final destination the Marriot Hotel, which is located at the end of the Palm Beach area. The same route is used by collective taxis, that are usually white and have a distinctive that reads "taxi" or "autobus" on the wind-shield or on the roof. Another option is to walk to the central station, in Oranjestad city center, located at approximately 10 minutes walking from the house. There you will be able to take the Autobuses and Arubuses from all the existent lines. Arubus is the name of the local transport company, and it offers two types of service, the Autobus (which is a small and blue bus or a big van) and the Arubus (which is a proper bus). The Autobus and the collective taxis work from 6:30 am until 10:00 pm, while the Arubus works from 6:30 am until midnight. All three options costs approximately 3 florins (1.68$) per trip, per person. The Villa is a little away from the center and the beach, so walking might not be an option for everybody. Until the Renaissance Hotel, located on Oranjestad's touristic area, there is a walk between 10 and 20 minutes long, depending on each person's rhythm. Therefore, and because we always prefer to do so, we recommend our guests to rent a car!
