I live in Albany Park, Chicago. It's quiet, family oriented, with lots of parks and treelined streets. The Chicago River Trail is within walking distance too. My home is a charming 2 flat building, built in 1909. It has lots of original, unique details. My home is a tranquil and peaceful place. My decor mainly consists of hand-made furniture, artwork, crystals, wind chimes, etc. I don't use any chemical cleaning supplies, I use only home-made products and essential oils. My apartment is on the first floor, it's great to relax on the front porch and lovely garden, where I planted apple & pear trees and raspberries. When they are in season, feel free to enjoy them! There is also gas grill, fire-pit, hammock and comfortable garden furniture. I don’t use any household chemicals, I make my own cleaning supplies. I have a zero-waste kitchen. I try to reuse, repurpose, and recycle as much as possible. Most materials are natural, many things are handmade, I love things with Soul and character. I regularly smudge (I make my own smudges or use oak, pine cones, Chaga, etc.) and sound cleanse (I use Shamanic drum and sound bowls). I love candles and fresh air flow. Depending upon mood and need, I use an aromatherapy diffuser too, with high quality essential oils. I love organizing and minimalism, so I only keep the things that I really need and bring me joy. It’s an old house, over 100 years. Still in very good condition. Built around 1909, it has many original details, even wood floor, mailboxes, light switches are original! I love my house. I moved here 20 years ago and it was the first and only place I ever checked out. Guests may feel free to use the living and dining rooms, kitchen, bathroom and sunroom, in addition to the front porch lounging area, garden, grill, fire pit, hammock, & sitting area in the garden. Outer door unlocks turning key left. Locks manually. Apartment door unlocks turning key to the right and locks automatically. I'm available for help throughout your stay. I’ll gladly provide homemade food (I use high quality, mostly organic, local and foraged ingredients) breakfast $15 lunch $20 dinner $25to-go meal $20. Coffee (from home roasted beans) tea, and homemade yogurt are complimentary. It's a very diverse neighborhood, family oriented, quiet tree-lined streets. There are many parks & playgrounds nearby, with farmers' markets in summer season. The Chicago River Trail is within walking distance. There is a multitude of unique shops and stores: Mexican, Korean, Turkish, Arabic, etc. Very good, affordable restaurants. Bus stop (bus #78), is 1 minute walk from my house, and it connects to the Blue Line train (on Montrose), which goes to O'Hare Airport (10 miles away), and through Downtown to Forest Park, IL. Bus #78 also connects to the Brown Line train, which goes to The Loop via Lincoln Park. Highway I 90/94 is very close, about 1 mile away. Walking distance from cafes and restaurants. You are welcome to use my garden too.
