Casa Torote, managed by Wanderways Vacation Rentals, is design, comfort & adventure in a beautiful beach house. Just a short walk to the beach, steps away from a fully stock supermarket, artisanal coffee shop, restaurants, bars and more. The nearest beach is a great spot to start or finish a down-winder. Enjoy breakfast with stunning views, relax, swim, snorkel, kite, paddle, bike, have a BBQ, and gather around the fire pit or heated pool. PLEASE READ "The space" section before booking **PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING** Casa Torote includes a two-stories main casa with 2 bedrooms and a small casita with 1 bedroom. In addition to the queen size beds in each bedroom, each house has a sofa bed. This will allow to sleep 6 people in beds and up to 2-4 additional people in sofa beds. The pricing provided in this page is for the full property. We designed Casa Torote to fit larger groups and thus we only rent the full property. We don't rent the casita or main casa separately. Due to Covid, we highly encourage our guests to get third party travel insurance that covers cancellation due to illness. We have a strict cancellation policy with no refunds within 60 days of travel. ABOUT THE MAIN CASA: The main house is modern, spacious, tastefully appointed and well equipped. It has high ceilings with many windows to enjoy the views. The main floor features an open kitchen / living room area, with a half bathroom for guests. The guest bedroom is on the main floor and features a private sink and shower. The living room has a convertible bed that can comfortably fit 2 kids or 1 adult. There is a storage room in the back to keep your sports equipment safe. The main bedroom is on the second floor and is only accessible through an outdoor set of stairs. Please note that while this is an attractive feature for many, families with young children need to be aware that the upstairs and downstairs floors are not connected with an internal staircase. Guests who stay in the upstairs bedroom will wake up to a breathtaking sunrise over the ocean from your bed! ABOUT THE CASITA: The casita is a studio concept with a spacious feel. Similar to the main casa, it is modern, tastefully appointed and well equipped. The layout from north to south includes a small front deck, a living room behind wall to wall sliding doors, a kitchen with a dual purpose center island (cooking and dining), a bedroom, closet, and full bathroom (no tub). The casita also features a small storage unit to keep equipment safe. From outside, you can access a roof deck with beautiful ocean and mountain views to enjoy the sunrise, sunset and beautiful starry nights. COMMON AREAS: The common areas include a beautiful palapa and a pool (4 feet deep) that is heated with solar panels and complemented with an electrical heat pump. The palapa has a bar in the middle, a long cement counter top with a double sink and a large charcoal grill for BBQs, a half bathroom for guests and a changing room for when you come back from kiting. There is also an outdoor shower and hose for rinsing off after kiting sessions, and a large rack to hang and dry your wetsuits and gear. The hot-tub operates only during cooler months, from mid-November to March. If you want the hot tub turned on during the warmer months (April - mid-November), there is an extra fee of $10/day x number of days in your stay. INTERNET: Casa Torote counts with Telmex fiber optic high speed internet with up to 200mbps download. Not that we want you to work while on vacation but now our guests can feel confident when getting on videoconferences for work :) Our guests have access to every space in the house except for a couple of storage units that keep machines and house supplies. We are available and happy to help our guests, although in most cases we will do it remotely as we do not (yet) live full-time in La Ventana. But don't worry because we have a great local team managing the house that can help with any question or need you may have. Meantime, please fully enjoy the privacy of Casa Torote to yourself. The house has a very good location. It is located in the Teso, which is located between La Ventana and El Sargento. In the Teso you will find most of the local restaurants and shops; from super markets to craft shops. The Plaza el Teso, which is just around the corner, houses the KIJOTE coffee shop, Teddy Restaurant and bar, La Ventana Bay Properties, a wine and gift shop and a healing arts center. Kiters: There are two beaches only 5 and 10 minutes away (walking). The first is ideal for intermediate and advanced kiters, as the bluff makes a small wind shadow. The second beach, just 120 meters south, has a wider sandy beach and totally friendly for beginners. Several kiteboarding schools take their students to start a down-winder from that beach. Beach lovers who are not kiters: The nearby beaches are beautiful and private and excellent for walks! Just note that the sand is a bit thicker than the sand in South Beach. At night: Although the town is usually "sleepy" at 9 pm, occasionally, people drive around proud of their music. We can just say welcome to Baja, Mexico! But don't worry, you'll get used to it. But if you are sensitive to noise at night, a couple of earplugs will take care of the noise.
