KURAGA accommodation is located on the island of KIHNU in ESTONIA near the upper part of ROOTSI village. For your enjoyment we offer daily/weekly accomodations (lodging) for 1 to 5 persons. Our rental accomodations are housed in a newly renovated two story addition of a private homestead. We offer 2 separate bedrooms, W/C, shower, a kitchen equipped with electric stove, refrigerator and utensils for food preparation and eating. You are welcome here throughout the year/four seasons. Kihnu is a small island in the Baltic Sea with a strong spirit. Originating from seal hunters and fishermen, Kihnu traditional culture is listed by UNESCO and widely loved among visitors from all over the world looking to explore Kihnu’s colourful village life. For many years, the men of Kihnu have been frequently gone to sea while the women ran the island and became the guardians of the island's cultural heritage, which includes handicrafts, dances, games and music. Music is an especially important part of the island's traditions, and accompanies handicrafts, religious feasts and other celebrations. The people of Kihnu speak a dialect of Estonian which is sometimes considered to be a distinct language and contains many elements from Swedish. Kihnu will appeal to anyone interested in Estonian heritage, rural architecture, and looking to catch a whiff of the refreshing coastal breeze. If you’re looking to dig deeper, visit Kihnu during traditional holidays like Christmas, Midsummer's day and St. Catherine's Day. Possible ways to get to Kihnu island from mainland Estonia 1. Ferry "Kihnu Virve" from port of Munalaiu Ferry schedule and ticket prices are available in the homepage of ship company AS Kihnu Veeteed. Between city Pärnu and port of Munalaiu is possible to take the bus. Bus schedules are available in the homepage of T-pilet: Pärnu to Munalaiu and Munalaiu to Pärnu. Port of Munalaiu also has priced parking lot for cars. 2. Ferry "Kihnu Virve" from port of city Pärnu (located in the city centre) Ferry schedule and ticket prices are available in the homepage of ship company AS Kihnu Veeteed. Kihnu is an ideal place for walking, fishing, cycling, and meeting the friendly islanders! The best way to explore Kihnu is to rent a bicycle (10 eur /day) on the island or bring one along from the mainland.
