Aloha! My 'Piece of Paradise' is a gorgeous studio in central Waikiki with mountain, city skyline and partial ocean views from a private lanai. Easy walking distance to shops, restaurants and the world famous Waikiki Beach. A Large Pool, Jacuzzi, Exercise room, Sauna, BBQ area and Convenience Store are all located on site on a well maintained terrace. PLEASE NOTE THE POOLS WILL BE CLOSED FROM NOVEMBER 5th-20th 2023, Island Colony is one of the tallest buildings in Waikiki, it is well managed with 24 hour Security personnel on site. The 27th floor studio lanai (balcony) is perfect for sipping coffee in the morning, enjoying a glass of wine in the evening or taking in the Friday night fireworks display. There is access to a Recreation deck with a convenience store, pool, jacuzzi, gas grills, exercise room, dry sauna as well as laundry facilities (paid). Hike Koko head - 11 miles from apartment - 642 ft climb up Take a helicopter ride Visit the Outlet stores in Waikele - shuttle required LOCATION The location of Island Colony is perfect for exploring the Waikiki area on foot, shops, restaurants and bars are all within a few minutes. For longer trips there is the The Bus (Thebus dot org) with the nearest stop bus stop is one block away on Kuhio & Seaside. One can also take The Bus to Ala Moana shopping Center or Beach park as well as going around the entire Island with stops for just $3.00 (2.5 hours unlimited travel) or Day cap is $7.50 - give yourself plenty of time 5-6 hours. CAR RENTAL Car rental places are within walking distance, if you intend to rent a car it is not usually necessary for the entire time as many attractions are within walking distance of the condo. A car is ideal if you would like to drive around the Island to the North Shore or visit the beach town of Kailua or the world famous beach Lanikai. Rent a car in the morning and return at night to avoid paying overnight parking fees ($35/day). It is possible to ride a bus to Pearl Harbor and the Arizona Memorial however it is rather a lengthy trip so a car is ideal or take a tour. At the back of Island Colony there is a Smart Car Rental (808 Smart Car dot com) GETTING THERE AND AROUND From Honolulu airport a taxi is approximately $35 not including tip. Book ahead of time at Charleystaxi dot com. Shuttles are available at a lower price but they can take lengthy routes. It is possible to take a bus from the airport to Waikiki on the departure level (bus # 19) for $3.00 (no change is available on the bus). Plan on about a 75 - 90 minute ride during high traffic hours. It is also possible to catch the same #19 bus from Kuhio and Seaside to the airport (again allow plenty of time up to 1.5 hours) but it is only $3.00! Cable TV also included. Please note that due to the number of guests booking this condo I am unable to accommodate early check in or late check out.
