The main home is not accessible to guests. If the door is open...we are home! Please come say hello! :). We are more or less in and out of the house all day. You will likely come across one of us or all of us at some point. :). We hope to get an opportunity to meet everyone who comes to stay with us. We are in a quiet, safe residential neighborhood. In a few short minutes you can be at one of the many public accesses to the beaches on Ali’i Drive. You can also find yourself in quaint downtown Kailua-Kona where you will find cute boutiques as well as restaurants and a Farmers Market. If you’re going to explore further, Hilo is about 90 minutes away and it considered the “wet” side of the island where you can explore a jungle atmosphere and see waterfalls and other awesome sites along the way. There are several grocery stores (KTA, Sack N Save and Safeway) all in town, approximately 5 miles north of the unit. You can also find Walmart and Target in town as well. Recommended things to do: -Check out some whales on a whale watching trip, typically in Winter & early Spring 🐳 -Watch the beautiful Manta Rays on a night snorkel or dive -Try your hand at catching an amazing fish on a fishing charter 🐠 -Find the turtles while snorkeling at Two-Step Beach 🏝 -Catch some waves on a body board at Magic Sands Beach 🏖 -Catch the Body Glove evening dinner cruise 🚢 -Take a drive into the countryside and visit quaint Waimea 🚗 -Definitely take the time to check out Volcano! 🌋 Renting a car will be the best way to get around the Big Island. You will find that there’s a lot to see and do but you will need 4 wheels to get there. :) There is also Uber, Lyft, the Kona Trolley and many taxis in the area. Please make yourself at home. Everything in the unit is for you to use during your stay. Please be respectful of the unit and items available for your use so the next guests can enjoy them as well. If there are any issues during your stay...just let us know. We want your stay to be comfortable and stress free :) We love children and have our own however this unit is not suitable for children (under 12yrs). ***There are 3 children in our family (ages 17, 15 & 10) as well as 2 dogs, 2 guinea pigs, a cat and a chicken. On occasion they have been known to become loud as children and pets sometimes do, it is inevitable. : ). They are most often quiet by 8pm and they are well behaved, respectful and friendly. :) ***During Ironman Week, Thanksgiving Week and Christmas Week, the minimum stay will be 5 nights. Any requests that do not meet the 5 night minimum during these events/holidays will not be approved.
