We offer a traditionally hosted B & B in a 1936 farmhouse on the shore of Lake Erie. We are located 2 miles from the Howard Marsh canoe trail, 5 miles from Maumee Bay State Park, 8 miles from the Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge and the Magee Marsh. Excellent birding! We are Just 25 minutes from the Port Clinton ferry to Put-in-Bay We offer two private bedrooms (one queen bed, two twins) and a private bath. We are happy to share the kitchen, living room, front porch & seating on the lake shore with an active purple martin house and marvelous views. This old farmhouse has a new furnace and air conditioning so your stay will be comfortable no matter how often or how quickly the weather changes. We are located on a private road on the dike along the lakeshore. There is parking for up to three cars and a boat trailer. I am an experienced hostess with many happy guest-friends. I will be present throughout your stay to answer your questions, provide directions, and prepare your breakfast. The new Howard Marsh canoe trail opened in 2019 in Reno Beach and provides excellent birdwatching as well as paddling options. Reno Beach is a semi-rural, un-incorporated village with nice neighbors and a handy well-stocked grocery. You will not be "roughing it." Because of our location between a deep canal and the lakeshore, this space is NOT suitable for small children. A car is essential in this neighborhood which is 20 miles from East Toledo. Bicycles are common and welcome. This is not a whole house rental, but a traditional Bed and Breakfast. We are happy to prepare whatever breakfast you might prefer, and share our kitchen if you wish to cook. We usually dine outdoors, weather permitting. Both of us have been fully vaccinated for COVID-19, and the entire house is carefully cleaned according to AirBnB guidelines before you arrive.
