Home from home but this isn't a 5-star hotel or a brand spanking new condo! Our place is close to the beach and nightlife. It's stocked with beach toys. It is so close to Ali'i Drive, Banyan's Surf Spot, Da Poke Shack and brilliant sunsets. Not suitable for families with kids under 10. This is also Hawaii so we do have occasional days where it rains a lot but head up north and you can probably get away from it! Also tropical island have insects and geckos! Our space is homely and comfortable, it's definitely not a 5 star hotel, so if that is what you are expecting perhaps try somewhere else but your relatively cheap Hawai'i holiday special awaits! Relax, chill out and enjoy. We know what it's like to travel and when it comes down to it, feeling "at home" on holiday is as good as it gets. We're about 2.5 miles south from Kailua Kona Pier and the main shopping area/restaurants and about 3 miles north of Keauhou where the other main shopping area is. There is a small shop about 5 mins walk south along Ali's Drive opposite Banyan's but the main stores are not really within walking distance so it's best to rent a car to maximize your holiday and see as much of the island as possible. We do not have a television , hopefully you are not coming to the island to watch the box! Also a reminder this is Hawai'i, we are on a tropical island so there are geckos, insects and bugs! The unit is the lower storey of a 2 floor house. Guests will have access to the whole unit including patio, washer/dryer, 2 car parking and of course wifi. We have a large array of ocean toys for your enjoyment. Yes tap water is drinkable. Location location location! So close to Ali'i Drive, Banyan's Surf Spot, Da Poke Shack. our house is located in a small, funky and safe neighborhood. The narrow lane up to our house is paved only half the way up, so please do drive slowly & carefully. Excellent location. To see all that the Big Island has to offer, we highly recommend renting a car since public transportation is limited. There is however, a convenient bus stop only 1 block away. Shuttles run to nearby Keauhou Shopping Center and world renowned snorkeling at Kahalu'u beach. (10 min drive) Surfers? Grab your board and walk to Banyans's or Lyman's. Showers at both surf spots, convenience store and famous Poke Shack (local style seafood) right there! Yoga? Beautiful open air ocean view Konalani yoga retreat is 5 minutes away. Nearby shopping center (5-10 min drive) features supermarket, drug store, bank, ATM, restaurants, cinema, bookstore, boutiques, art galleries, tour operators, information center, ice cream parlor, real estate, health clinic and gas station/convenience store. Free swimming pool, great library and Natural Health Food Store all close by. We do not have air conditioning but ample ceiling & floor fans. There is no television and there is no view but hopefully the short walk to the ocean makes up for that. Again the reminder: this is Hawai'i, we are on a tropical island so there are geckos, insects and bugs! The wee lane up to our house is a bit rough half way up but can be done by any car! Our check-in and out times can be flexible. We will do our best to accommodate early arrivals and late departures. Please request when booking reservation if you want to check in before 4PM or check out later than 11 AM. Not suitable for guests with kids under 10.
