Spread out as if you were right at home in your spacious, 1000 sq. ft., comfy & inviting apartment on the lower floor of our home. We are located atop West Hill on the last city street in a quiet, friendly & relaxed neighborhood. Some of our "neighbors" include robins, cardinals, butterflies, woodchucks, chipmunks & on special occasions, a hummingbird. Inside your Master Bedroom, you have a queen size bed with an adjoining updated bathroom with floor and shower mats. The shower has a handheld wand for your convenience. Various grooming products are also provided. The Master Bedroom has a full closet, a lighted alcove with a built in desk & office chair. A larger dresser and wingback, upholstered chair complete the furnishings. The Living Room is equipped with a flat screen TV including basic cable. The apartment has WiFi access. We offer a nutritious, self-serve breakfast consisting of coffee, teas, juice, granola and healthy snacks. Your apartment, you'll see, is thoughtfully and thoroughly furnished throughout. The updated Kitchen is well supplied with a full-sized refrigerator, oven and microwave & everything you would need to prepare your own meals including utensils, dishes, saucepans, etc. An additional door from the Kitchen leads out to a wide open yard/large greenspace. Step just outside & you are surrounded by continuous lawns & stretches of trees as far as you can see. A semi-shaded, private patio is furnished with chairs, table & umbrella with which to relax & enjoy an award-winning regional wine or morning coffee. The apartment has its own separate and fully equipped laundry room including detergent for the washer/dryer. The apartment is located in the ground level of my home. I have a permanent residence upstairs and am on site most of the time. If I am away from my home, it's so I can run an errand downtown. I am always accessible by cell phone. My apartment is probably best suited for 2 adults or for 2 adults with children/pre-teens. While the space can accommodate for 4 adults, guests may feel a bit cozy, especially if they have brought lots of luggage. You have your own private entrance, which is accessed using a walkway on the side our house. (The walkway has 5 gradual steps, and the stairwell to the apartment has 4 steps.) The entrance is well-lit with light switches both outside at the beginning of the walkway and inside the apartment. Ample, safe, hassle-free parking is available in front of our house. Let me share my 40+ year of residency and employment at Cornell and Ithaca College to assist & enhance your visit. Being a foodie, I am happy to share my favorite restaurants with you. Ithaca is located in the heart of the Finger Lakes wine region with many wineries within a 30-40 minute drive past spectacular views of several Finger Lakes. There's a cozy wine bar right on the Inlet and a great fish restaurant at the bottom of our hill, both less than 1 mile away. Just off the Ithaca Commons, are several restaurants; many have patios offering seasonal outdoor dining. The TCAT Bus #14 (our city & county bus system) is around the corner and brings you to the center of downtown, the Ithaca Commons, which is only 1.5 miles away. Transfer downtown to bus to Cornell. Note: bus service to West Hill is limited to daytime/commuter hours. Most service ends around 6:30 pm. Kayaks available for rental close by, at the foot of our hill. Municipal golf course is about 1.5 miles from our place. Our regular rates* are: Spring/Summer/early Fall: $190/night Highly attractive off season weekly/monthly rates available upon request.
