It is furnished with a brand new King sized bed that is done up with hotel quality sheets and pillows. For your use is a mini-refrigerator/freezer, a microwave, and a coffee/tea maker to greet your day in Hawaii with a nice cup of ALOHA. *Breakfast included consists of local fruit available, and is only given on day of check in. Your bathroom is equipped with a large walk-in shower, and has all the amenities that a 4-star hotel would provide. The towels are always soft and fresh. Guests are welcome to walk throughout the front yard respecting the privacy of host and family. My husband Keoa and I (Moana) live in the remaining portion of the house with our 'popoki' (cats) Lana and Milo, our ilio (dog) a Blue Heeler/Border Collie/Australian Shepard mixed ball of energy ‘Mauka.’ We have three lovely tabletop laying hens. We also have a pet goat Black Opal. We are happy to share our mana'o (knowledge) of the sights and sounds of Hawaii. We enjoy life on the island, and are available to answer any questions you may have regarding 'things to do' while visiting this special place. A very quiet and respectful residential community, the Kea’au Ag Lots is a very desirable living area and subdivision. Please be respectful of our home. Drive safely and slowly. Less than a mile from our Hale Moana is the little town of Keaau. You will find a 'Foodland' grocery store, CVS Longs Drug store, and a great little farmers market where you can delight yourself in the vibrant flavors of Hawaii's tropical fruits and local grown veggies. A few of the restaurants you'll find in town , thai cuisine, Lemongrass Grille, and local-style plate lunch place called L&L. Shipman public park has tennis courts, a basketball court, and a playground for kids. It’s best to rent a vehicle, however there is a public bus system that goes through the town of Keaau and can take you to Hilo or Kona. We are on clean county water, but we also filter that water for your consumption using the Berkey Water Filtration System with double filters. NOTE: Many of the other Airbnb in our area are using catchment systems, which can pose as a health risk to guests if not cared for properly with the correct filters and maintenance schedules. You may get Rat lung worm disease if you consume the parasite by eating unwashed vegetables or fruits, or drinking water from a catchment tank that may have had an infected slug in the water.
